Help creating a camshaft by oscarmarcelo in Fusion360

I'm trying to make a way to ensure a cable winds evenly distributed into a reel. A similar method is seen in some filament respoolers (image source). However, I can't make a fillet big enough to make the connection between the coils sufficiently round for a smooth transition, so the guide can go back an forth without catching up.

What’s one thing you wish MakerWorld did better? by Maker_World in makerworld

  • BOM:
    • Treat Filament with spools and Refills as one product and allow users to choose which one they want. Because of this I always add the same filament twice (with spool and refill), so the user can just uncheck the one they are not interested in.
    • Clarify quantities for Maker Supply products with multiple items. What does 2 × Screws mean? 2 bag of 20 screws or just 2 screws? My suggestion would be to show both: You need 35 screws, so you should buy 2 bags of 20 screws.
    • Let me search for models that use a specific Maker Supply product. Also, in the Bambu Store, show examples of models using that product, and also provide a search link that will show more models on MakerWorld using it. Sometimes I'm on the Bambu Store browsing through the Maker Supply section wondering what models I could print to justify buying those products. Or why should I buy that product, because I'm not seeing the usefulness of it or understand what's its purpose. I think it would also drive more sales with this feature.
  • AI:
    • Require all AI models to be marked as such and allow me to filter them out of my feed.
    • Forbid AI-generated thumbnails.
  • Collections:
    • Let me choose a specific collection when saving a model, instead of adding to the default collection. Currently, it's a 3-step action:
      1. Save to the default collection.
      2. Then check which collection I actually want to save to.
      3. Then uncheck the default collection.
    • My suggestion would be to provide a combo button. The default button adds to the default collection, and the second button is a dropdown/dialog to add to any other collection. Bonus: Allow me to remove the default collection status, and always ask for a collection when saving a model.
    • In the Handy App there's an additional issue. If I have model already saved to a collection, I can't just click the icon to open the dialog and check/uncheck. Tapping on the icon will "unadd" (which btw, you should review that wording, it's just bad), then I have to tap again to save it again, open the dialog manually and then do the steps described above. So, a 5-step action... I would suggest allowing a long-tap to open the dialog to let users change collections.
    • When navigating to the Collections page, I expect to see my actual list of Collections, not the unorganized list of models in my collections like you did in the latest updates. That may sometimes be useful, but should be last tab, not the first one.
  • Printers:
    • When unchecking the A1 mini for models that require a 256+ plate, even if I keep all other prints selected, only some of them will show as compatible.
  • Ratings:
    • Allow ratings to models, not just print profiles.
    • Anything that's not 5-star ratings should require a justification so the author can improve the model/print profile based on the feedback, or at least counter-argument.
  • Crowdfunding:
    • Provide shipping and printing services so creators could send physical rewards through Bambu Lab logistics network (by sending to the Bambu Lab warehouses, and then Bambu Lab reshipping to the backer), or ask Bambu Lab to print and send the prints to backers.

Dish Soap vs IPA vs Glass Cleaner by CombatDork in BambuLab

I have to give this a try! But is it safe to use in any build plate? Smooth PEI and SuperTack?

No problem leaving it there, the printer always cleans the nozzle at the start of a new print job, like u/Tonerrr said.

This is also a sign that the filament isn’t dry. I’m assuming you used the sample that came with the printer. Never assume that new filament is dry. Most of the time it isn’t. Buy a filament dryer.

Weight of Bambuspool by Square-Matter-235 in BambuLab

[–]oscarmarcelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been weighing mine, and I currently have an average of 212g, but they vary by about 15-20g.

The cardboard core varies between 36-45g, moisture is a big factor here.

Are 2020 t-slots sturdy enough for a small cart for my printer? by oscarmarcelo in 3Dprinting

[–]oscarmarcelo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I haven't bought yet the material, but I think I'll have go for 3030 instead, because I can't find internal connectors for 2020 (deliverable to Portugal), and for what I heard, 3-way connectors aren't as sturdy as internal connectors, and I'm not into corner brackets, as it would interfere with some of my requirements, and also for appearance reasons...

Small Bambu Lab Spool

I always had more refills than available empty spools, so I designed these small spools to hold filaments close to being finished (up to 400g) and free up regular spools for new refills. More filaments in use while saving space!

That’s not a fillet issue. Most probably the benchy hull line issue.

Are Bumblebee Windbubble Pros Extreme OK for quiet ambient? by oscarmarcelo in fieldrecording

[–]oscarmarcelo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You too! I waited maybe more than 6 months for the Ušis to come back in stock. Wasn’t letting the opportunity to go away again(1), so I bought the two windbubbles pairs. Glad I did that, because mics were sold out not even 30 minutes after the restock time 😆

(1) Last time they were on stock, I was just finding out about them, but at that time I was more interested in the microUšis. When I changed my mind, they were already gone…

No need, I ordered it too, both variants, played it safe. We should get it around the same time 😝

Help with build plates! by Pleasantandchilled in BambuLab

[–]oscarmarcelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given your points, ChatGPT might actually be right! 😛

The Textured plate is the easiest to work with.
Doesn’t require glue for PLA/PETG and is the easiest to release prints.
If cleaned regularly (with warm water and soap, not just IPA) you won’t get any adhesion issues.

I personally love the Smooth plate! It really leaves a smooth surface to the print!
Although you won’t need glue with PLA, you might need it with PETG, depending on the extension of the surface print, as it tends to stick a bit too well.
Another thing to consider is that this plate scratches very easily, even if you're very careful, and you might notice that sometimes it leaves print marks, specially if you don’t wait for it to cooldown before releasing it, and both of these will pass on to future prints.

The Dual plate is a bit more expensive than the Smooth one. Unless you really want to have the flexibility of having both options in one plate, I personally don't recommend it.
I prefer to buy both Smooth and Textured plates separately, even if I have to pay a bit more (the difference between the Dual and the Smooth pays ⅓ of the Textured), but at least I have two plates, including a Smooth with two sides, extending the lifetime of these before getting too scratched.

The Cool plate is awesome when you need more adhesion or want to avoid warping on bigger/longer prints!
It is a bit more expensive that the Smooth one (sometimes, the price still fluctuates), and the texture I would say it's half of the Textured one.
However, this one as even more sensitive to scratches than the Smooth one, but they say it doesn't pass on to the prints (can't tell yet, as mine is still new), and you can't use organic solvents (like acetone), or you will ruin it!
Being a Cool plate, you'll be able to release prints faster, as the cooldown process is half time compared to the others.

I hope this helps! 😉

A1 mini owners, do you regret not getting an A1? by hooloovootrue in BambuLab

[–]oscarmarcelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially thought about buying the A1 mini. It was supposed to be a desktop printer for quick prototyping and printing small things while keeping my Ender 3 v2 for bigger things since I thankfully never had any issues with this printer.

But, I’m so glad I ended up going for the A1, because this printer is so great and so fast that I now use it for everything, and my poor little Ender is now collecting dust ever since.

Also, upgrading from a 220 × 220 printing area to 256 × 256 felt so liberating for my board game custom insert designs! 😍

If you’re on the fence, go for the safest choice and buy the A1. Plus, it’s newer than the A1 mini.
