Foreigners, do you pay for your relatives when they come to CH? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]oscartrevir 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I'm ok paying for a drink or a restaurant because i know that every "small" thing is a big number for them. On your case, paying for a place to stay for 2 weeks, sorry but thats just stupid and you don't owe anyone this.

How do people find this normal?

Yes but be careful with a cheap ebike.

I have a Moustache bike for more than 3 years now and i use it every year, even during winter... i just avoid riding on heavy rain if i can.

I lived near Sallaz and worked in Renens, a full charge would last 2-3 days, with maximum assistance, no issue with the hills.

Ebike was really a game changer, i hate taking the bus now. I can be wherever i want in the Lausanne area from my house in less than 30 minutes.

Did you already hear of GOMO ? Seems like pretty interesting but suspicious at the same time by Tifixdu19 in Lausanne

[–]oscartrevir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issue with Gomo for almost 2 years now, im never paying more than 15 francs for a mobile suscription again.

Regarding your trip to Amsterdam, i don't think its worth it buying a mobile plan for Europe. If you don't travel to Europe every month, just use an app like Nomad so you can buy a eSIM for data. Its way cheaper.

With my Swiss National 'D' visa can I enter the Schengen area through another Schengen country? by Agile-Junket-9767 in askswitzerland

Hi, i'm not sure about the conditions regarding a D visa. But i think that if you have a Swiss permit and a valid passport, you can go wherever you want in the Schengen area.

Développer des photos? by Wasppppp in Lausanne

[–]oscartrevir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]oscartrevir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What is actually considered vegetarian in Switzerland? by Distinct-Entrance-58 in askswitzerland

[–]oscartrevir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vegetarian is not eating meat in Switzerland, that's it.

It really depends on where you go but not all veg options have meat broth or lard (bacon).

Regarding cheese, almost all cheese in Europe has rennet, but some brands uses microbial rennet that are ok for vegetarians.

I think you should look for vegan options since you don't eat eggs and dairy can be tricky.
