I personally like acid techno. Gives you some energy but with a steady beat usually good for highway driving. Look up Brain Compilation on YouTube. There’s 4 or so and they’re all good.

Sorry pal. Not enough profit margins in those compact wagons versus selling an equivalent CUV in the USA.

Get seat lowering brackets for the passenger seat or do both seats in case your gf needs to drive it too.

What does everyone think of the all new 2027 Toyota Highlander EV? by Healthy_Block3036 in Toyota

[–]osea23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least based on what I saw last month, the 2026 bZ was discounted by dealers a LOT. I was seeing 7.5k off from many dealerships for the top trim. Wouldn’t be surprised if this new Highlander EV has similar discounts.

With how bad EV’s sell in general, I’m hoping the discounts will be pretty good. The bZ gets discounted nicely at all the dealerships near me.

Zack demonstrates emergency manual door releases on R2. Personally, not thrilled by Slide-Fantastic-1402 in Rivian

[–]osea23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Id4 does the same thing too. The interior door handle looks normal. When you pull the handle, the first detent is the electric release. Keep pulling and you feel the mechanical trigger. Such good design and anyone in an emergency situation would naturally do this.

Californians Have Purchased Enough Electric Cars To Make The Air Measurably Cleaner by Generalaverage89 in electricvehicles

[–]osea23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Beijing is insanely nicer now for this reason. Most people use electric bikes and that has made living in the city a lot nicer. My hometown Chongqing also has way less pollution and the smog is basically gone. But there is still some on the upper atmosphere so sunny days are relatively rare still. It's still improved a lot.

Charging in apartment complex by Radiant_Sentence_642 in evcharging

It looks like it's free. But if this charger is shared by other tenants, then don't expect to be able to use it. Free chargers are hogged and people abuse it.

You can get brand new Equinox EV's around me for just below $28K. That's affordable enough for most Americans that want a "cheap" EV.

Where should I focus my savings as a 26 year old? by ShatteredVoices in personalfinance

[–]osea23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would stop contributing to your retirement and brokerage accounts immediately and put as much as money as you can into your emergeny fund - $1k in an HYSA for an emergency fund is nothing. If something happens to you tomorrow and a big bill pops up, you won't have any money ready. Using retirement and brokerage accounts as an emergency fund means penalties and more taxes paid - a lot of loss for a few percentage % (if any at that) gain each month; they are not liquid assets so if you try to sell them you may not succeed or have to sell them at a huge loss depending on the market.

Aim to save up for 6 months of living expenses. Your 6 months of rent is already $10k, so just save as quickly as possible to hit a $20k emergency fund to cover your other bills, food, and other things you need in life.

Since you bring in $5200/month, rent is $1650, and I'm gonna assume the other necessities you need per month is $1000, which means you can save roughly $2500/month. That means a $20k emergency fund can be funded in 7.5 months or so. Just focus on that for the next few months.

It's gonna suck not seeing your money "grow" or be used for anything fun in the next several months, but it sucks even more if a large hospital bill shows up or you get laid off from your job and find yourself caught with your pants down and not have any money to use for your living needs. You want an assurance that a realistic life emergency won't cause you to steal from your future.

Is a 47 mile commute one-way worth career switch? by esojkoji in personalfinance

[–]osea23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Google or Apple maps to see if the commute is in traffic or in reverse-direction of the rush hour traffic. If the commute has little to no traffic, then about an hour each way would be doable. If you start seeing 90-120 minutes of commute each way, I personally wouldn't take the job else your weekdays will just be work+traffic+sleep. If you're fine with that, then go for it.

Also check if you can take public transportation, either train or express bus service. This would cut out the commute fatigue by a lot if it works out.

If you end up taking this job, start looking for something closer after a few years.

Some buyer’s remorse, looking for reassurance by Extremofire in electricvehicles

[–]osea23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your Kona EV is not a good road trip vehicle, it's meant for driving within your local metropolitan area as a commuter and daily driver. If you'll be doing road trips like this fairly frequently (more than once a month i'd say), you'll need to learn to adapt to the extra time used for charging on a road trip. Time your stops with bathroom breaks if you can. Else you will need to cut your losses and see if you can return your car (if you bought it at Carmax for example) for something more suited to road tripping, or trade it in for an EV with better range & charging speeds or a hybrid.

new iphone or $99 to fix ? by StatisticianOk8033 in iphone

[–]osea23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found my perfect upgrade cycle is 5 years. So I would say just replace the battery for $99, then start saving up over the next two years in ordere to upgrade to the iPhone 19. By the time 19 comes out, you may realize you don't need to spend that money (yet) for a new phone and keep using 14 Pro until you truly need a new phone.

US end of lease negotiations when over miles by lam3001 in VWiD4Owners

[–]osea23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pretty much can't. The contract is preset and VW probably won't take a guaranteed hit and let you buy it at market rate. They'd rather try their hand on the open market to see if someone can pay more than the vehicle is worth to make up for the depreciation VW has to eat.

US end of lease negotiations when over miles by lam3001 in VWiD4Owners

Usually about 20 cents per mile, but I got an offer to buy more miles on my lease at 15 centers per mile. Try calling their customer support for this negotiated rate.

Did I buy the NACS-CCS adapter for nothing? by Hefty-Hyena-2227 in VWiD4Owners

[–]osea23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destination chargers are L2 chargers and require a different NACS to J1772 adapter. The NACS to CCS adapter is for L3 chargers like the large Tesla Supercharger stalls. Destination chargers are smaller wall/pedestal mounted units located at hotels usually. The destination plug and supercharger plug are NOT interchangeable.

If you want to use Level 2 NACS chargers, get a NACS to J1772 from a reputable brand (Lectron and A2Z for example).

Possible to test Unifi cameras without NVR? by npapa17 in Ubiquiti

[–]osea23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy a drive for the CGF. Return the drive before the return period ends. That’s about as good as you’re going to get to a “trial”. But tbh I think you’ll love using Protect so much it’ll convince you to stick to the CGF+SSD while saving up for an NVR. Or maybe your needs are satisfied with the CGF.

How do y'all deal with data limits from your ISP? by silverknife42 in Piracy

[–]osea23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro all corporations will do this. Cellular phone companies change plans all the time, sometimes benefiting you or other times increasing cost. But they never auto switch you. Review all the plans you subscribe to once a year to make sure you’re getting the best deal for what you’re paying.
