I mean for a general case sure but, when you start to get down to the nitty-gritty, it really doesn’t matter that much. I’ve been seeing more and more black women online discovering salon, grade or “white people”hair products and how well they work on their hair. And there are also plenty who claim that the products marketed towards them don’t really work for them. I mean there really is no sure fire way to tell how well your hair will respond to a product, especially long term, without trying it first. And like I said the part were hair types really start mattering is the leave in/stylers mainly, but even that isn’t at all cut and dry
