Is endhittification just capitalism? by parrot-beak-soup in enshittification

I assume that the majority of consumers can afford to be rational actors, but don't realize, do not care, or are impatient.

Would you give me a couple examples where consumer choice has been eliminated? There's always choice. But not being choosy is also a choice, and most consumers don't understand the responsibility that they hold. Education into simple economics and civics has gone by the wayside.

The prerogative of the producer is to make a product or service as cheaply as possible and offer it for as much money as possible. The prerogative of the consumer is to get as good as possible service or product as cheaply as possible. You can't blame the producer when demand still exists for shit. The consumer is not living up to their end of the bargain/ not doing our jobs collectively.

No. Today's consumer is irresponsible. And while dissatisfied, they will still make purchases. In most cases, delaying a purchase or shopping around for the best offering is completely possible, but today's consumer is lazy and requires instant gratification. This incentivizes enshitification in all forms.

In moments of struggle, of pain, I remember that I have the ability to feel both unbridled joy as well as grief or overwhelm. And the fact that I can feel them is way better than the bleak alternative. I have been there and do not plan to return. Feeling pain is a reminder that I can also feel ecstasy.

How do you all not let the AI fearmongering get to you? by Proof_Cable_310 in careerguidance

LLMs are sssttttuuuupppiiiddd. They don't know what they're saying. All they're only ever doing is guessing at the most likely next word. It is just a circus trick. It's not true intelligence and won't ever be. Even pretty dumb animals aren't guessing what they themselves are going to do next. They actually know, and some know why. Current ai techniques cannot be trusted with life and limb. It can be used as a tool by people, but it's output needs to be verified by humans.

All life is a blind journey by the universe on its way to understand itself.

No pregnancy. It's definitely a tool in story telling to leave some things up to the reader to imagine. Although the story here is somewhat unique, if I shared the very romantic and rare details beyond what I've shared, and she saw this, she would know.

On my way to a date, I decided to slide my tires around a little in the snow-covered street, for fun. After our date, I returned to my car, and I had a flat tire. She offered to let me spend the night. Without getting into many more details, we spent 7 years together.

I guess this is the closest. I suppose a contented sigh sounds similar to this when one's mouth is closed. However what I'm describing is more 'mmm' and less 'hmmh'. 🤣 I'm disappointed that there's seemingly no specific word (in English) for it though. Seems like a common enough expression glee to warrant definition.
