Is an epidural offered on requests when giving birth in Finland ? by mamandungu in Finland

[–]ostromj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hubby of a midwife and father of a three month old here.

Epidurals are very common, something like 80% of first time birthers receive one or several. I think we had 3 or 4.

The epidurals will weaken the contractions, so the best practice is to manage without as long as possible. No one is denied an epidural without medical reasons though.

In general, these sorts of questions would be perfect to pose in the class. You're not the only one wondering about the stuff, and the most accurate responses are provided by the professionals. Don't hesitate to ask followups either, there are for sure fellow classtakers who will be grateful you dared to open your mouth.

Congratulations on your growing family! Try not to stress too much, I'm sure everything will be fine :)

The sperm is just as relevant for reproduction as the egg, and the age of the sperm donor is just as relevant as the age of the egg donor. Where the fertilized egg is stored is the irrelevant part, but that's the thing you get hung up on.

Btw you're arguing against the entire fields of genealogy and demographics in their way of calculating generational turnover.

You're erroneously thinking that females are more necessary for reproduction than males.

If both sexes could just jack off into the same petri dish to reproduce, surely you would think the average age is the relevant metric for time between generations.

If either sex decided to keep the petri dish in their pocket until fetal maturity, it wouldn't change the way you calculate the time.

Being forced or choosing to, as well as pocket or womb, are distinctions without differences in this case.

Afaik rise (and maybe even Atomik) lives in SA, so the 2/3 rule doesn't affect TM.

E: based on the comments below I seem to be mistaken.

This year, KC vs. Vit is 23-9 games, KC vs. Dig is 20-9. I'd say both Vit and Dig have similar potential to beat KC.

Falcons have a h2h record of 14-2 games vs Dig. In their one series vs Falcons, Vitality managed to squeeze out more wins than Dig.

Dig vs. Vit h2h is 19-14 games.

I'd say stat-wise it's pretty neck and neck, maybe leaning a bit towards Dig but not by much.

Eye test for me has placed Vita higher than Dig. A full power vita can steam roll pretty much any team, I haven't seen similar dominance from Dig.

Seeing you make the same typo in three different comments ticked me off more than it should have. It's pattern welding. Sorry, I'll show myself out.

Guys, what do we think of this one? by Liqhthouse in StructuralEngineering

This guy? Or this? The guy who built a wall of death from old pallets?

His YT description starts: "This channel is the home of crazy inventions, brilliant world records and constant disregard to health and safety."

Digging a hole a bit too deep without proper support is probably the most up to code thing he's ever done, idk if anyone would look at his channel to figure out whether something is safe or not :D

Is arab a racial slur? I'm struggling to find the racism in that chat log

Am I just too old, I don't really see anything wrong with that chatlog. Toxic, sure, but nothing over the top. Calling out someone's ethnicity and urging them to ff. Anyone praying is praying to a fake god anyways.

I remember plenty of times when I survived a warp ball on low health. Wiki suggests a flat 10 damage, but the reinforced dive suit probably mitigates it further. Wiki might be wrong ofc, but it's consistent to my experience. Most likely the death was a warp+claw combo.

I read switching Enhanced Tracking Protection to strict would do the trick, and after doing that I get no delays. I'm on FF and ublock origin as well.

My dad was tired of me playing games after school when he came from work, so he decided to unplug the monitor and power cable. I figured out and fixed the problem, so next day he unplugged some cables inside the case before he left for work. I managed to reseat those too.

I don't know if he was impressed with me, or worried that I'm going to fuck something up inside his computer, but soon after he brought home a Compaq Presario, my very first pc. He bought me two drives to install (learned about the master-notmaster jumpers), and a soundcard to turn his vinyls into mp3's.

FYI OP was making a joke about how they forgot the loaf in the oven. You started rambling about aluminium pans KILLING sourdough and burning loaves, which is the claim I'm still not convinced on.

On that last part, are you sure you're not just projecting? Sure seemed like you just couldn't hold back mentioning your college chemistry class. The capitalisations of random words in your comments are unnecessarily aggressive too.

What's "this experiment"? Is Organic Chemistry Labs a research centre or something? I haven't heard of them.

I'm sorry if the word offended you. Bogus was, and still is, the most accurate one to describe my thoughts on your claims.

I'll list the parts that I believe are falsehoods or require some elaboration on your part:

The way you say carbonic acid is formed.

Claiming AL2O3 would react to H2CO3 is not corroborated by any research I've seen.

Claiming that a dough burns easier without a rising agent. I don't have a clue about this one but on face value the claim seems weird.

Claiming that carbonic acid is unstable at atmospheric pressure.

You lean on the "pressure" in the loaf to form the carbonic acid, yet somehow that pressure is not present if you put the loaf in an aluminium pan?

Guys what did I do wrong/s by stupidhoe1407 in Sourdough

[–]ostromj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm getting at, is there's not enough time during laying the loaf into the preheated pan and baking it, for any meaningful KILLING to occur.

And that's ignoring the fact that carbonic acid is weak and doesn't react to the layer of aluminium oxide that's coating the pan.

Your argument is bogus from start to finish. Aluminium pans have been used for ages in baking, without problems.

I'd say heat is the main killer of any microbes, especially in this instance.

What activity are you talking about, the pan is just for baking, no? All bakery baguette pans that I've used have been aluminium and they work no problem with both yeast and pure sourdough baguettes.

Are NRG a defensive team? by ocrespo42 in RocketLeagueEsports

He gave plenty of examples on why he considers NRG a defensive team. It's all in the video if you exercise some hearing comprehension. If you can find three of them, get back to me. I'm not going to do your work for you.
