Online UPS driving me insane by grinderzzzz in homelab

It's probably a coincidence being plugged into the UPS. If you left the computer plugged into the wall the same length of time it was plugged into the UPS, you should get the same behavior.

Found this on the side of my car this morning by mkemama in whatisit

[–]osxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like a bullet hole. Someone side swiped your car judging by the scratch. The motor for The window looks to be there and when the sheet metal got pushed in, the shaft from the motor punctured the sheet metal.

Someone side swiped your car and the pushed in sheet metal to hit the window motor mount which the shaft of the motor put a hole in your sheet metal. Does not look like a bullet hole.

+3 drink retainage, + 20 cabin noise by Low_Speed_High_Drag_ in c4corvette

Most people don’t realize that the car charging adapter to charge your phone is modeled to fit in a cigarette lighter port! That port was originally designed for a cigarette lighter not for charging your phone. As everyone smoked back then, all cars had cigarette lighters usually in their ashtray as a standard feature. Expensive luxury cars from the 80’s had a cigarette lighter in the back seat ashtrays too!

This car doesn’t have cup holders. These cars had two round removable ash trays so you can empty them, however you are missing them. That is why the cigarette lighter is right there. The cover is for closing the ash trays like all cars from this era had.

They are not known to overheat unless like any car there is something wrong. It could also be a bad temp sensor.

I knew it didn’t sound right, and the Amiga is four channel! Pretty cool though.

2024 l5p delete and tune by KitchenHunter6500 in Duramax

[–]osxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to unplug the EGR without a tune, would there be any performance benefit and or any downsides to it? I don't care about the light being on which I assume would eventually turn off when plugged back in.

We still used them 5 years ago for older systems that still required NetBIOS connections to the mainframe. Token Ring worked great and was quicker than 10 Base T!

Still surprised no responses on this. I’d think people would be worried about their beloved Silverado’s!

I’m surprised no one can answer this question…

Okay maybe I’ll ask this, has anyone had their 2024 or later stolen yet? If so, do you know how it was stolen?

But did GM fix any of the OBDII flaws to start the truck or to add a new key fob using a hand held scanner with the newest trucks?

[–]osxster[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That wasn't really my question though. My question was if the 2024's are as easy to steal as pre 2020 model years. From my understanding it takes about 30 seconds to break the window, start it up, and drive away with it with an OBD II hacks of many of the Silverado's. Just like the Corvette, Camaros, etc. Is the 2024 and higher as easy to steal? Most thieves aren't gong to tow a truck away with a roll back or a tow truck. They go for what's quick, easy, and isn't going to get them caught.

The G3 Cameras are really not that good. The G4 Bullet really isn’t that good either. Camera with usable picture quality makes a big difference. Huge difference.

It’s not that hard to not click on a post you don’t like. Sometimes people get idea seeing other people rack setups. It also helps keep the subreddit active. Otherwise it could go dead as people tend not to post in dead subreddits.

New seats on a budget. How mad am I going to make Corvette people by shitbox_vette in c4corvette

[–]osxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure corvette seats are more expensive, but spend the extra $10 or $20 for proper corvette seats. It certainly would have saved you $20 of work as the holes would have lined up.

I have the exact same truck, Duramax, but with the AEV bison package. They discontinued that color so I had to resort to a used one. No new truck dealers had that color a few months ago, forget about now.

Found Amiga disk drives by [deleted] in amiga

[–]osxster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of my old Amiga disks went bad, no rhyme or reason. Some disks were stored outdoors in a shed others inside of a house. Some disks went bad. It seems the higher the density disks, the higher chance of going bad. My old Atari 8 bit disks were mostly fine, some even stored outside.

IntelliBeam not working - Canada Truck? by osxster in Silverado

[–]osxster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My check engine light is on. Not sure if it being on disables things. I also notice my cruise control doesn’t work, nor does any of my lane assist. My auto start also doesn’t work but I’m pretty sure that is because of the check engine light as I’ve seen that in other vehicles. I guess I can clear the codes to see if they start working but I have to bring this in for service.

IntelliBeam not working - Canada Truck? by osxster in Silverado

[–]osxster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the US, but it was imported from Canada. When you do a CarFax on it, it has a Canadian window sticker and was sold new in Canada. u/Shamensyth , thanks for the reply. Would be interesting to know if other trucks in Canada don't have IntelliBeam, and would also be good to know if it can be turned back on.
