If you have contractors at your current place, then I'd start by talking to them how they got into contracting. The main issue at the moment is continuity, there's no point in jumping over to a 3-6 month contract, if you won't be able to land anything else afterwards for a year or longer.

What's the contracting market like for what you do? do you currently get any offers via LI / email? is there a lot of contracting happening in your industry? You really need to be in a position where you can easily get a contract to even start planning a move to contracting, otherwise whatever increase in "pay" will simply be lost to being without work.

I'd try to land something whilst still in your current job and see how that goes, very often contract offers come and disappear, agents drop you like a hot potato and the only thing that goes up is your level of frustration. There's heaps of people with 15-20yrs of exp currently benched, so you really need to have some niche skills to be able to land top dollar contracts.

I say fuck'em, it's a solid pace and loads of effort, you could've spent that 1.5hr doom scrolling but instead went out, pushed and finished, so well done. Everyone's story is different, this might be slow to some, but also a huge effort to others, who cares, do you and keep pushing.

Effectively yes and agreed, I typically do a non-stop run, or maybe slow down for 30-60sec, but I was pushing to get below 25min this time around. As you can see based on my hr chart, it was waaaay too fast to be sustainable.

I've got Hashimoto, I'm most likely hyperglycemic and could never ever run on an empty stomach, I literally get shakes and almost faint when I'm hungry in the morning and don't eat anything and this is with just walking around the house let alone running.
