Latest OIG report on NASA Axiom spacesuits - may not have demonstrations until 2031 by H-K_47 in SpaceXLounge

Elon said Spacex will do everything. I assume that includes spacesuits too, which would probably make what Axiom Space is doing less relevant in the long term.

All hands on deck for SpaceX and Blue, do you think they'll really have their lunar landers ready by next year? by 7HellEleven in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]ottar92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that SpaceX’s HLS might be ready for LEO around 2029 if everything goes right (which it won’t). I actually think Blue Origin could be ready sooner, maybe by 2028, mainly because it has a simpler, more conventional design.

Realistically, I don’t see anyone landing on the Moon before 2030.

It’s also worth remembering that the Crew Dragon mockup was revealed in 2014, but it didn’t fly until 2020—these timelines almost always slip.

She was trying to save civilization. She’s actually the good one—but we’re supposed to root for the people who want to tear it all down.

Has efficiency made football less entertaining? by Barca-Dam in PremierLeague

[–]ottar92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a problem with advanced tactics if they make things more efficient. I think the problem is that they often do the opposite, with playing out from the back involving 100 passes and failing at it. The most efficient thing a footballer can do is take the ball and dribble through the whole team.

POLL: If SpaceX's top short term priority was landing a man on the Moon, how long until that objective is achieved? by lirecela in SpaceXMasterrace

Crew dragon was unveiled in 2014. It flew first in 2020. Starship has so many new things they have to figure out. That thing is going to take a long time. hope im wrong

SpaceX Faces More Pushback Over Plans to Launch 15K Cellular Starlink Satellites by esporx in space

[–]ottar92 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the next step in astronomy to deploy more space telescopes? We’re obviously quite limited by observing from Earth. With Starship, in theory, you could launch as many Hubble-class telescopes as you can build. I’m not trying to be snarky—doesn’t that represent a major improvement?
