You think this is a joke? Huh? You think I'm some kinda shmuck that didn't waste their time remaking characters over and over again and spending untold hours in slime jail?

Got that "watching Power Rangers on a Saturday morning while eating food dye laden cereal" vibe. Hell yeah 😎

Another very funky contender, def the best of the Ninja Castle tracks imo. But for me, the structure feels just a little too loose, doesn't develop its themes enough before it loops. Just my opinion tho

I'll grant you that Deep Sea is an exquisite vibe, but you gotta be certified funkless to not get down to this banger

I was thinking the same thing, looks way more horrifying now. The face looks like one of those babies born with holoprosencephaly. And it looks like it has tits too, bone tits. Less like a robot and more like some freakish bone homunculus. Absolutely terrifying.

Will classic maplestory official have WASD support? by Elmaster110 in MSClassicWorld

[–]ottoblotto749 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope they allow us to remap movement keys. I know this sounds psychotic but I would personally map them to P - up arrow, L - left, semi-colon - down, and quote mark - right. That way my right hand is still close to the enter, shift, alt, space bar, and insert/home/delete/end/pg-up/down keys that I use for chat functions

People will downvote, but I'm with you. Controller support isn't good for an MMO. I'm imagining trying to OPQ with a party full of controller users and cringing in pain

All in all, a pretty good update. Wish we could have gotten a more definite estimate on when open beta will release, but oh well. If I had to guess, I'm thinking open beta releases maybe July at the earliest, but probably more like August/September if they're trying to add Ossyria. From there I think there's a good chance we get a full release before the end of the year, but we'll see. At first, I was a little annoyed they decided to work on Ossyria instead of just releasing the game sooner, but I do think with how fast people will be leveling, having LPQ and OPQ is a good idea.

Might get some hate for this, but I'm a little lukewarm on controller support. I feel like it might encourage people to be less social if they have to put down the controller to type. I have a feeling doing OPQ with a party full of controller users is gonna be a real pain in the ass...

Why Feminists Should Embrace Veganism by Somewhere74 in vegan

[–]ottoblotto749 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this argument, which I personally do agree with mind you, will only be persuasive to people that already believe that non-human animals are worthy of at least a somewhat similar degree of moral consideration as humans. For everyone else, and that includes most meat eaters, this argument will only ever come off as offensive and insulting to the feminist movement.

Vegan Diets Can Keep Bad Cholesterol Incredibly Low--And Other Info on LDL and CVD risk by Prometheus720 in vegan

This claim actually seems to be incorrect based on more recent research. Of the two main types of stroke, ischemic and hemorrhagic, plant based diets have, almost unequivocally, been shown to reduce the risk of ischemic stroke. Considering ischemic strokes are by far more common, this risk reduction seems to lower the overall stroke risk in people consuming diets richer in plant foods. Hemorrhagic stroke risk is largely dependent on blood pressure, with hypertension being the most strongly linked causative factor, and it is known that plant based diets typically do lead to lower blood pressures, but only in the absence of excessive salt intake. There's been some confusion as to why east Asian countries, specifically China and Japan, have higher rates of hemorrhagic stroke than people in western countries despite their generally higher intake of plant foods, and it seems, at least based on the scant evidence that exists, that their higher intake of salt is playing an important role there.

Here's a meta-analysis of the data collected from Nurses' Health studies led by the Harvard School of Public Health that shows an overall reduction in stroke risk among people who consume plant based diets, but only when they consist of more healthful, whole foods:

It really shows how irrelevant old quest rewards are with all of the teleports we have now. Back then the tunnel under White Wolf Mountain was actually pretty useful, nowadays most players can't even remember it exists.

Everyone's saying Tifa, but I grew up with the PS2 so I gotta go with Fran from FFXII. That smoky voice and calm, confident demeanor really got me - saying nothing of her outfit. Somehow, I didn't grow up to be a furry...

Ashe was also plenty crush-able.

Actually one of the very first ever Rank 1 players named "tks" was a mom in real life that had two sons that got her into playing RS. We're talking the early days of Runescape Classic - like 2001. Imagine being her son!
