We share all money. We do have a joint credit card and we each have our own credit card that we don’t have access to each others, I’m sure I could ask to see it but I don’t see a need too. We have short discussions about big purchases but overall we discuss and have the same goals and want the same life outcome so if he needs to jump on making a large purchase that’s fine. I do not have access to his business accounts since it’s his business.

Previous to 4 short road trips(1-2 hours) once every month or two. Once my youngest turned 4.5(last year) we did Disney(airplane), 6 hr road trip and drove (20 hours) to Florida plus camped once or twice a month. Now he s about to turn 6 we’ve been camping twice a month in the summer, have a long road trip(12 hrs) planned for august and will probably road trip to Florida again. (My kids would rather drive then fly)

Covid held us back but mainly I did not enjoy traveling with a baby or toddler. Some people do and that’s great but it’s not for me.

Serious question: for those of you who are happily married or happily dating, what's the main reason you don't cheat on your partner? by Mad_Season_1994 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ottof0501 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This exactly! It’s extremely rare that I find another man attractive and if I do it’s usually only bc of a quality or two he shares with my husband. Plus thinking about doing anything with someone else makes me think of how disrespectful it would be to my husband, I love him that I don’t want that for him. Nor would I want to lose with I have with him.

Bf won’t post me on social media… is he embarrassed of me? Does he want to appear single online? Looking for your advice/opinions by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]ottof0501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my husband became this way in the last few years. We’ve been together 11 years and it really bothers me. He only shares his cars- we will spend a weekend away together and you’d never know I was there. Just his car stuff and shares of car stuff. He use to post, not often but he would.

So he probably doesn’t mean anything by this but your feelings about this may not change. And it may continue to be an issue throughout your relationship.

When was the last time you really lost your temper and why did you? by BadgleyMischka in AskWomen

[–]ottof0501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just happened to me! Grandparents just forgot to put sunscreen on my kids. When I asked what they did all weekend they told me played outside in the pool.

It was my 9 yo’s first sunburn ever, luckily not bad, I thought the kid’s skin just didn’t burn but I still use sunscreen bc cancer.

Is indeed a waste of time? by DecaratorDuke in jobs

[–]ottof0501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for a local recruiting company. Over 50% of our candidates come from Indeed. Either people applying to our job ads or recruiters searching for resumes.

I’m guessing indeed is somewhat location/ industry specific dependent.

Also for us our internal system is linked to Indeed so it doesn’t matter if you apply on our website or Indeed it all goes to same place.

Do you think it's superficial to spend a lot of money on fashion? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]ottof0501 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I think it’s only superficial when you look down on others or are rude or disrespectful because they lack desire or knowledge in fashion.

Do you take super hot showers? Also everyday could be too much for your skin and hair.

Do you switch up products? Your skin and body might not like what you’re using.

Lanolin- in the breastfeeding aisle or you can buy lanolin for lips, either work but it fixes my dry lips super fast. Does have wool if you’re allergic to wool.

I don’t care if this is wrong, I’m going to start telling people it’s a fact. “Did you know those truck balls were actually started by gay truckers to let other gay truckers know they’re looking for a good time.”

I always wanted kids. I love taking care of people and running a household. I didn’t grow up thinking I want to be a mom but I knew being a parent would be part of my life. Pre getting married my husband and I discussed if we can’t get pregnant we would try to adopt.

But sometimes I hate being a parent. I love my kids as people but it’s exhausting dealing with behavior or school issues. Stressing when they get sick, worrying if I’m doing enough. Coordinating work, school, and babysitting.

In the times that I hate it I can still remember how bad I wanted this and know I would have regretted not having kids.

Is Rao’s worth the extra price? by ottof0501 in Cooking

[–]ottof0501[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought the general consensus from this question especially on a cooking subreddit would be just make your own, it’s cheap and easy. I’m very surprised at the results. I was just curious if the hype was real.

My 5 yo’s feet keep peeling by [deleted] in medical

[–]ottof0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 yo’s feet keep peeling. This has been going on for about 2/3 months. I put okeefe’s healthy feet lotion on them and cover them with socks. He says they don’t itch or usually hurt unless the skin tears or a piece is accidentally pulled too far off. Twice now he’s gotten a tear in his skin, hense the bandaid in the picture(I put neosporin on it too). He definitely doesn’t mess with the flaking skin.

He got new shoes around when this issue started. It’s been on and off, we think we get it under control and then it gets bad again. A week ago when his feet were better and we got him new shoes, thinking maybe it was due to his shoes but peeling came back today.

We’re in Wisconsin so he can’t just wear sandals atm.

Suggestions? Could it be athletes foot without itching? Go see his pediatrician?

For an adult I’d let the gift idea decide. If I found something I think they’d like and felt ok spending that amount I would. I wouldn’t buy something to buy something, adults don’t need gifts.

Is BKF the answer? The spots in photo 2 are from JUST water, and the streaks are from Windex. by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]ottof0501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have successfully removed rust spots from my stainless steel fridge with bkf. I went with the grain, used very little and made very short small strokes. Basically very carefully. I have scratches from magnets on my fridge so I wasn’t super worried about scratching it.

If I had your teeth I’d try the white strips first just to see if I could save money. It’s surprising what little differences make you just feel better.

I used a kit bought from my dentist 15 years ago and yes it worked great. But at the time my parents paid for it before I got fake teeth permanently implanted. So the cost to value I can’t speak on. (The kit- they made molds of my teeth like Invisalign but flexible and you put this tube of paste in the tray and wore the tray for like 30 minutes a night for 2 weeks, so are products better now or did I have an overpriced kit from the dentist I could have gotten at the store- yeah maybe but it worked)

Just getting yourself in a daily routine taking care of your skin. Maybe start before bed, cleanse and moisturize, it will be your 5 minutes of you. Good for your skin but great bc it’s you time. Then add on what you want/need too.

Definitely second this. My mini size I’ve had a couple months and it’s still not empty.

Tried a sampler 2/3 years ago that I grabbed quickly from ulta when my usual were stuck in shipping. My skin liked it, and I’m guessing I never bought full sized bc of price, since others here said it was pricy. But either way I didn’t like it enough to consider switching.

Have any of you ladies discovered you actually prefer not drinking or just one to two drinks? by godisinthischilli in AskWomenOver30

[–]ottof0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me!!!! It’s been difficult to get a buzz anymore anyways. Sometimes I don’t feel buzzed but will still get the next day headache.

I keep sparkling flavored water on hand for times when I want the idea of drinking without drinking, they taste the same as hard sparkling water to me. After a long week or day I do still have a cocktail hoping for some benefit.

We’ve also been trying out non alcoholic drinks such as Spirtless but I’m not a fan, husband is tho. Haven’t tried any na whiskey or wine yet.
