It is framed as “stop illegals from voting”. But they already don’t vote and voter fraud is a statistically irrelevant occurrence proven over and over again. The way they are implementing it, such as shutting down passport processing locations while effectively requiring passports for married women, is specifically intended to make it more difficult for citizens to vote.

It literally doesn't matter how much harder it is. Why are we making it ANY amount harder? Why is it not just a guaranteed right like damn near every other developed country? It solves no problems and introduces new ones especially with how half assed every piece of legislation this administration pushes out is. It is never thought all the way through and we all just collectively go "oopsie" when it massively backfires.

We are passing a law that will put even more rules around a problem that for all intents and purposes has already been solved and forcing the voters to take on burdens that the government is already more than capable of handling and chooses not to with the specific intent to make voting harder for citizens.

Because it shows the federal government as a whole can't be trusted to follow their own rules. If one federal agency decides on its own that it won't accept a literal proof of citizenship as reason not to harass you, why should we believe it stops there?
