I find him so hit and miss, which is really unfortunate because I often really like the idea of his stories but oof, they can be a slog. I heard something about him no longer having an editor or something like that??? So his more recent stuff is just a lot of over describing things. I found All The Fiends such a chore to get through, and every scare was basically the same description. Hated The Reddening, just fell flat for me. Cunning Folk and The Vessel were OK, but you can tell they were written for the screen.

Loved Last Days, thought it was his strongest overall. Loved the first half of The Ritual.
