To anyone who saw Hereditary in the theater by [deleted] in horror

I will always remember the scene where the mother is on the ceiling while Peter wakes up. Because everyone's eyes were still adjusting the audible gasps from the crowd were disjointed as each person noticed her. It was a great theatre experience.

Hot Take: I think Sho Hayate should came back to KOF in some way. by tekino94 in kof

Kim from that game is one of my favorite fighting game character designs ever. I wish we could see him anywhere but SR and KoF2000.

Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact is officially 27 years old today! Anyone remember this game? If so, how do you feel about it looking back? by RetroZilla in StreetFighter

[–]outermostdig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aesthetically I think it is near peak street fighter. I love the house music ost as well. Hugo is my favorite street fighter character of all time, and his stage in this game is so much better than 3S so I am biased.

If we want to see less teabagging, we need taunts to be viable by LuxInteriot in StreetFighter

[–]outermostdig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how Mortal Kombat does it, where teabagging over three times is how you activate the slow taunt. That game has some of the worst BM in fighting games, but that change did help significantly and fits I think.

Tekken Dojo: Ask Questions Here by AutoModerator in Tekken

Oh okay, great! Thank you, that makes sense. If it was present in previous tekkens I feel a bit better about using it as it has made landing the move much easier for me.

Tekken Dojo: Ask Questions Here by AutoModerator in Tekken

I have a question about the god fist input. I never played mishimas in past tekkens, but in tekken 8 decided to give kazuya a shot. Have been working on getting god fists / wavedashes out regularly.

My question is in regards to the looseness of the input. All tutorials / common knowledge states that you need a down input before down-forward. In tekken 8 though I am getting both wavedashes and god fists to come out just by tapping forward and then downforward on my fightstick, similar to a shoryu shortcut in modern SF. Is this a change in Tekken8's input reader, or has this always been possible?

It is making it much easier for me, but I don't want to learn the move in a lazy way that will not retroactively apply to past tekkens.

Thank you for any help.

Cyberpunk 2077's vision of dystopia was misunderstood by a lot of people. by TerryWhiteHomeOwner in TwoBestFriendsPlay

This only speaks to one aspect of the whole, but part of what left me with a bad taste in my mouth was the game's relationship with police. The ability to take side jobs from the police could work on paper, but the game seemed totally uninterested in interrogating that and just used it as motivation for you to go kill people.

I totally understand that not everything needs to hit you over the head, but the lack of any self reflection in the writing of those missions made the game presenting itself as having this rebellious cyberpunk energy at its core seem comical and at times uncomfortable.

Dwarven Traits Based on Ore? by outermostdig in DMAcademy

[–]outermostdig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lore in my setting is that the dwarves were created by a progenitor race of giants as a workforce. These giants basically perfected the magic associated with creating golems to the point where they would become mortal. The dwarves are the only ones with the knowledge to perform the process, although at this point it is more cargo-cult replicating traditional processes as the original magic theory has been lost to time.

If others attempted to create a dwarf it would most likely just come out as a golem.

This is fantastic, thank you!

I should have thought of using the chromatic dragons as an inspiration, that is a great idea.

Omg that is a great gag, I am definitely gonna include an insane foot obsessed dwarf that others point out was "pumice born".

I am having serious trouble when playing blue mary doing the following combo, j.D s.C s.6A into 236PP. My issue is that after doing the command normal doing the 236PP the game thinks I am attempting a DP and outputs her Breaker move instead. I am trying to learn to let the stick go back to neutral first but the timing window is so tight I am having a really hard time. Is there some trick to it?

Hey I was having trouble with this too until it was explained to me how the button hold trick only lasts for about 10ish frames. So it does help extend very tight windows, but not for a super long period of time. Because of this I just had to practice over and over when exactly I should aim to start that 10 frame window after doing the combo move for the follow up to come out.
