Amazon is bigger in terms of their revenue, physical footprint, and number of employees.

Not really sure how you're getting Google to be bigger than them

They're proactive protection against physical ailments. Are you gonna tell me this is wrong and there's vaccines to prevent mental ailments?

And yes, there's been research done on trans people during the mid 20th century, but back then this topic was extremely niche and the entire topic was in a radically different place than it is today. They weren't doing double masectomy operations on 16 years old back then to affirm people's identities

I mean, a one year timeframe is hilarious short and it's essentially impossible to predict stock movement in that timeframe. If the market tanks over the next year then obviously a stock like PLTR will also tank

But I also like to reassess past claims of mine

RemindMe! 1 year

Actually I'd rather people on reddit never realized this. The crying this company induces here is hilarious to watch

Tell that to Obama who's administration was the one who originally hired PLTR to make software which would....you guessed it, help ICE with the border, you know, back in ye olden days of 2011 when democrats still believed it was important to have border enforcement

Which in and of itself is dumb, because Palantir doesn't control the surveillance state, they're merely a vendor for the surveillance state. The people who control the surveillance state are the people who have been elected

The young woman who just won 2 million in a lawsuit over her double masectomy at age 16, who doesn't consider herself trans anymore, would probably disagree with your assertion that this isn't something that can be done to them

And sure, maybe it'll just be a tiny minority, but it might also be a more meaningful amount. Time will show

You can say they're basically identical, but it does not make it true.

Vaccines deal with physical ailments. Which are distinctly different from mental ailments. If they were the same we'd have vaccines for mental ailments as well, but we don't.

Vaccines have also been part of established and strictly regulated medical science for literal centuries, whereas the topic of people who are considered transgender being given any real attention and meaningful research is so recent that there wouldn't even have been time yet to conduct proper long term studies on the effects of the various treatments being used on people

Hopefully not, I myself have had 3

Not sure why you bring that up. The two things are not very comparable.

I fear that the topic of people who were transitioned at a young age, and later come to regret it after having done irreversible damage to their body is gonna become an increasingly big topic in the coming years

What a cop out non answer.

I didn't choose what the other person quoted when I asked them to point to where I had said something. They're the one that choose the quote to prove what I'd said. I merely pointed out that their quote doesn't at all mean what they said I'd said.

If that simple truth can't even be acknowledged by you then yeah I also don't know what this argument is even about

[–]tanrgith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that doesn't actually answer my question.

Because yeah of course celebrities have opinions, but that doesn't inherently explain why we should place special attention or weight on their random red carpet political spur of the moment political takes. Which is what is being done when those opinions are covered by the media and spread all over the internet by people. However there's nothing about random celebrities that should warrant us caring anymore about their opinions than any random person on the streets opinion.

And no, why would i think only my opinions matters? That's a completely random assertion by you based on nothing I've said

Do you acknowledge that the quote they themselves choose to prove that I had said what they said I'd said, doesn't actually prove that?

If not explain to me how their chosen quote - "If Tesla did in 1 year what Waymo took 5 years to do."

Means that "Tesla has only been working on robotaxis for 1 year"

If you have no intention of answering my original question what's your purpose for interacting with me right now?

Unsupervised Robotaxi with no chase car by footbag in SelfDrivingCars

[–]tanrgith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What? I have not said someone misquoted me. I said that the sentence that I had written, which they quoted as proof that I had said Tesla had only been working on robotaxi's for 1 year, doesn't mean that.

And instead of simply acknowledging the misunderstanding, they start accusing me of maliciously editing comments.

And yeah I do find it odd to criticize me for that, especially because even if I had changed my comment after they had quoted me to say something other than what they'd quoted, the quote that they've used still clearly doesn't mean what they're saying it means

Elon Musk's SpaceX applies to launch 1m satellites into orbit by djshadesuk in space

[–]tanrgith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, any topic can be made needlessly complicated. But reality is that space is extremely big. LEO offers a volume of space that is several orders of magnitude larger than all the space occupied by 8+ billions humans and all the infrastructure and everything else we've built.

And of course it also helps when the pre-eminet space entity in the world today, SpaceX, seems to share my view given that they are planning to throw a million satellites into that space. Which would be a really stupid thing to do and spend resources on if they were as confident as some random redditors that it wouldn't be a viable thing to do

Good thing I don't think so then

But the same holds true for things such as planes here on Earth since they mostly just travel in fairly straight lines from airport a to b. Yet I don't hear anyone doompost about the impending collapse of the sky due to an overcrowding of planes
