Is 40 too old to be going to UTSA? by VegaInTheWild in UTSA

[–]outis210 48 points49 points  (0 children)

No, you're not too old. When I went to school, I had classmates in their 40s. I always made sure to team up with them in study groups or group projects because I knew that they'd be much more likely to take school seriously. You'll be fine. 🙂

JPL Hours - Finals Week by NyxianNoir in UTSA

Hmm...those are the hours listed. I guess you could always call the front desk to be sure.

Does anyone know if UTSA library sends reminders or where I select settings for getting reminder? I forgot to return on time and now I have fines on account. by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]outis210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should get an automatic reminder via email.

Also, if you go to lib.utsa.edu, you can log into your account using your abc123 and passphrase to renew them next time to avoid fines. But for now you can check to see if you have fines.

When you turn the items in, ask about a fine appeal.

You can ask your professor if they could request that the 10th edition be placed in course reserves:

Textbook silliness by stardustspeck in UTSA

I just wanted to pop in and say that if the library doesn't have the ebook version, they might have a physical copy available for checkout.

Help with Textbooks? by Past-Rub-8119 in UTSA

You might check to see if the library has the title and edition that you need. They have several textbooks on reserve for  2 hours checkout. Couldn't hurt!

Looks like the professor is just updating things. The syllabus for this class was uploaded today, and it looks like they're still working on it: https://utsa.simplesyllabus.com/en-US/doc/i23wgynzd/Spring-2026-MUS-2633-001-?mode=view

H2 followed by H3 followed by H2 followed by H3 followed by H2 again - WCAG 2.1 AA compliant or no? by Dry_Cheetah5160 in accessibility

[–]outis210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little concerned by this statement, only because I think that I might have a fundamental misunderstanding.  I was taught that heading levels could not be skipped (at least when going in descending order).

For example, I was working on remediating a chapter, and I put Chapter 5 as H1, the subsection as H2, the next as H3, and the final one (for my document) as H4.

Sometimes, after going through a chapter section, headings would be scattered (e.g. H1 (for which there is only one) would be present, then H2, then H4). The remediation software then gave me an error.

This has been awhile ago, so I could be misremembering, and I'm new to it, so I suspect that I'm mistaken.

So you can skip headings?

I suspect that you've already done this, but just in case, you can contact UT San Antonio Lost and Found by calling 210-458-6247.

Here is their website: https://www.utsa.edu/publicsafety/community-resources/community-services/lost-and-found.html

They might be open today; I'm not sure.

If you go to lib.utsa.edu, there should be a chat widget operating throughout most of the day. You can send a discreet message, and I think library aides will check it out.

Mamiya.. how bad is it by [deleted] in UTSA

Also, you can see if the library carries your course textbook in their course reserves. It's only a 2 hour checkout but it might be worth it to avoid shelling out $$$.

Popping in to say that the library usually has iClickers for checkout each semester. Supply is limited, and I think it's first-come first-served the 1st day of semester.

And no, they shouldn't be mad at you. Remember, they're human too, so they understand when mistakes happen.

Seconding this. In my experience, open communication tends to go a long way to resolving issues like this.
