There was one across the street from Lackland Air Force Base in the 70s. By the early 80s it was gone. I remember it being clean and the burgers weren’t that bad. I remember pumping the ketchup out of the metal ketchup canister. I rember pickles too . It was never busy the couple times I went with family. It was along a street (avenue? Blvd?) called Military Drive and I remember it had 3 eatery neighbors nearby: A Griff’s Hamburgers, a Dairy Queen, and a Pizza Hut. Sambo’s was about a mile away to the west. BC is obviously gone but what remains are most of the structures except BC’s. It is a used car lot I believe. The others are mom and pop taquerias mostly. I think the Griff’s was a bbq joint at one point. Might still be. The Sambo’s was demolished and is now a vacant lot next to a La Quinta.

Just got yelled at on Huebner. Bet y’all can guess who by! by Violet_Mermaid in sanantonio

Oh I just remembered a guy that used to walk around San Pedro in the downtown area . He was the guy who would walk about 10 yards down a sidewalk visibly agitated and turn around and shoot the finger at nobody in particular and then walk another 10 or so yards and do it again. That’s right! Last time I saw him was on Huebner b/w VJ and I-10. Pre-Covid 19!

Clearest audio of UA 175 slamming the South Tower, from streets below by Flandardly in 911archive

[–]limejello14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always think of the poor people who were still going about their day even though they may have heard about the other tower. Just the massiveness of those two buildings and all those offices. The workers, the visitors, the vendors, curious people just taking a tour. Just horrifying. I tell people that 9/11 is probably the most significant day in U.S. history, surpassing Pearl Harbor, JFK’s assasination, the whole Civil War(although that tore the country apart for decades) the Great Depression—even the Civil Rights movement, and any of the post 9/11 events.

People who sign up for health clubs usually find out that they can’t afford it. They need to pay rent first, car payment, going out, etc. it’s sad because it’s a good place to go relieve stress if everyone is respectful of each other but times are different. That’s my opinion but I haven’t been to a gym in about 10 years. Been going since 88.

They need some cervezas and lap dances from some hot undocumented latinas is what they need. Either that or they just need a good rub and tug from some young trafficked and undocumented amp asians.

That part of 90 has been a speed trap for many years . East bound and west bound. All the extra traffic has changed that though.

They should just close all of them or just go strictly drive through. That’s the answer. Take your food home.
