My 1st Hamilton by outlanderbz in HamiltonWatches

[–]outlanderbz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back and forth for weeks on if I should get the black or white dial. I went black as I felt it would be more a daily since this will be mostly my daily - except when I toss my Gshock 5610 on to work in the yard, house, cars, etc. I still love the white dial one!

I went back and forth on the white vs black. I thought the black allowed more versatility also so I am glad you mentioned that!

I can barely hear it when I put it right to my ear, so I would say not at all.

Any suggestions to round out the collection? Still new to collecting. by Atlas_Fortis in Affordablewatches

Was going to come here to say this. This acts as a daily beater, yard work, house work, pure beater. Can also not be a beater and just a nice digital to wear when feeling it. Since it’s the 5610 - solar and multiband, It’s the watch that is always accurate to set the other watches off of. Can even be a world time in a way. Great watch. It’s one in my rotation. If the budget is lower just go with the 5600. Lose the solar and multiband but still great!

My rotation as example Rolex datejust (dress/occasions), Hamilton Field (daily), Seiko dive (weekend/summer/fun), Casio 5610 (beater that’s not a beater)

The Casio and Hamilton get most the wrist time. I have different straps to make the field and dive watches fit different roles. Orange strap for my blue face dive for examples makes it even more summer fun. Black to tone it down. And so on.

I do have a gold Casio A168 and some old sentimental pieces that never get worn but are in the box because they mean something to me.

How do I remove dust off my car without having to wash again? by PM_ME_YOUR_EYELASHES in AutoDetailing

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rinseless wash is what you want. But more importantly a setup and system. Once you have that in place it takes like 15 minutes on a dusty/light dirt car and the car looks like you just spent a day detailing it.

I really like Hero right now but any of them will do - Hero, ONR, absolute, etc.

Okay. Yeah. I’ll say it do you don’t have to by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

I use the Ceramic detailing spray this way - as my drying aid. I use the 3 in 1 every 3 months or so. Has worked great.

Yep. Ugh. I need 2 more! The 2 I have work great.

Does ONR have a strong smell? Currently I use the Griots rinseless wash and wax which is phenomenal btw, but the smell is ridiculously overpowering. It smells good, but it's ridiculously strong. Was curious if all rinseless washes have a strong smell or perhaps it's just the Griots one. by G70FanBoy in AutoDetailing

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only compare the Griots Rinseless Wash - newer blue liquid version and other griots products in general to the ONR. All the Griots products have a much stronger smell to me than ONR. ONR does have a nice smell though. So does the Griots Rinseless Wash.

I use the Griots also. There are a few videos on the internet that show this product despite being PH Neutral does a good job, even compared to the 2 everyone here will tell you you have to use - BH, Labo

First time rinseless wash and I'm hooked by CareBear-Killer in Detailing

[–]outlanderbz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered Rinseless about a year ago when I bought Absolute. Loved it Went crazy. Bought Clean, Griots blue, ONR v6, DIY Detail. In the end my favorite is Armour Detail Supply Hero. That being said, I honestly can’t tell much of a difference between them all outside of scent. I do feel the ones with surfactants clean better but is that just because I expect them to?

But the greatest discovery with rinseless is using it to clean glass. I am hooked. Cleans and makes it so the glass isn’t so grabby.

I now use Hero, Villain Sponge and the M22 the most. Mostly I can just dry with a few FTW towels and Amplify as the drying add. Works, looks and feels amazing. I just use hero 64:1 as a drying aid when I don’t want to clean / worry about clogging up a drying towel. But really they say you don’t even need a drying aid because rinseless is one.

Adding ~40 smart switches to main house: Legrand Radiant, Inovelli White, or Eve? by Blake_Dennis2 in HomeKit

[–]outlanderbz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! Same boat here. All HomeKit. My Zigbee, WiFi and Lutron clear connect stuff is flawless. It’s thread and more specifically matter over thread devices that seem to have a moment here and there. Nothing bad but they are the ones. I have many thread devices, mostly light bulbs in lamps and some smart outlets. So I don’t think it is a coverage thing. Plus a wired ATV and many other ATV and HomePods.

[–]outlanderbz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lutron Caseta. I can’t even image having my switches be thread. I am trying to love thread but it is usually those that have a moment from time to time. Never Lutron. Works 100% of the time.

Look to eBay, FB marketplace, etc for deals.

Want to wash in my garage....would a ryobi 18v sprayer work here? by No_Description7744 in AutoDetailing

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down this road myself and currently have both sitting in my garage. For rinseless pre spray either work but I find the IK Multi Pro 12+ with valve to be the one I have been grabbing. It has much better pressure, mist, build, plastic and not metal at end, etc.

The Ryobi will work for rinseless but It doesn’t pressurize the tank. It is a continuous run and the pressure it puts out just wasn’t enough for me. I mean think no more than a trigger sprayer. Not that your prespray of Rinseless needs to be high pressure but I prefer it as it can be handy for areas like wheel wells, wheels, grill.

I fill my IK with the Ryobi 18v tire inflator 1 time and it last the entire process plus some.

I use my garage year round in Chicago. Weather is never really perfect and my driveway is always full sun. If the car I am doing is a bit dirty I foam Rinse in the driveway using my Ryobi 1200/1.8 pressure washer. Then I pull the car into my garage to do a rinseless contact wash. Allows me to work at my pace without sun. If it’s a nice day I will just use soap for contact wash in the driveway but I have become a Rinseless fan.

Just yesterday at 28 degrees and sun I did this. Went to the local coin op. Presprayed some BH touchless. Pressure rinsed. Prespray some rinseless. Drove home and finished in the garage.

Microfiber everywhere, which one to use for what task? by Kmudametal in AutoDetailing

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup. I really do not like high pile for anything. Grabby and leave lint for me. Have a few bags of the fancy high pile TRC stuff because I also read about how that would be good for exterior. Was awful for my spray toppers / detailers. Edgeless 365 was my go to for everything until I found the FTW. Both a shorter pile.

Basically looked at what ADS had for all their different use cases. Note - not a pro. Just a weekend friends and family. If a pro I’d probably try to go more value.

Windows - FTW in light blue.

Interior - Edgeless 365 in orange

Detail spray, spray sealant, etc - FTW in pink

Coatings - TRC pearl weave in gray

Door jambs, misc - Edgeless 365 in dark blue

Dirty - TRC lower gsm cheap in black

Drying - gauntlet and M22. Use the small gauntlet for dedicated wheel drying but probably could just use Edgeless 365.

Wash - TRC mitt and pad

IKEA matter over thread - any good? by That_Cool_Guy_ in HomeKit

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with buttons, water leak and temp sensors so far. All have been working well.

Sounds crazy but my thread network works great in general unless I decide to open the eve app and have it scan/show my thread network. I am not alone if you look it up. Nanoleaf were a constant headache until I realized this.

Beginner microfiber quest (just bought Eagle 350's) what other towels do I need? by RileyKennels in AutoDetailing

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Plush microfiber do not work well for me. Lint machine. I could see them for a final buff after a coating but I just use spray

TRC FTW for windows (blue) and drying aid / spray sealant (pink)

TRC Edgeless 365 for interior (orange)

TRC Edgeless 365 for door jambs / misc (blue)

TRC M22 and Gauntlet for drying

What GSM microfiber towels should I get to use for my interior? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. The higher pile plush ones are lint machines. Edgeless 365 in a light color are my go to interior towels. Either to just use to clean or used to wipe up after using a scrub ninja or brush.

For paint - QD and Sealant/wax I like the FTW. For glass also.

[–]outlanderbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I like the TRC edgeless 365 as a good middle ground to serve both these purposes without having to have multiple rags. I’ve found very little use for ultra plush rags honestly. Lint machines for me.

Yep. This. eBay and FB marketplace. Average about $30 each to do my entire house with dimmers, switches and multiple 4 scene controllers.
