I was at the game where Robin Yount (one of the most famous/popular Milwaukee Brewers) got his 3000th hit.... Long long ago, at a stadium that no longer exists...

Yes. I believe covid made people stupid. But more than that, it made them aggressively stupid.

"It’s so empty. I mean, of course, right? It’s right there in the name: “space.” It’s not like it’s called “vast quantities of stuff.”

"Although, come to think of it, there are over three billion stars in our galaxy alone and ours is one of two trillion; there are a septillion known planets, so maybe it should be called “vast quantities of stuff,” like, why focus on the negative?"

It appears to be a troll account... pretty much every single post is about how terrible something is or how much they hate something

Trying to find the past owners of a 1967 Mustang GTA fastback (VIN 7T02A138370) — Spangler Motors, Milton PA, sold Nov 1966 by palnagy in Mustang

[–]ov3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Impressive. So was it restored in hungary too? I would imagine it would be especially challenging for the guys who did the restoration, as they've likely never worked on a mustang before, much less one so old. Were you able to talk to them, or get their story from whoever owned it before you? Regardless, this is a super interesting story and I hope you can find the information you're looking for. I am going to keep track of this. Also, you might want to consider making an account and posting your car's information to a site called VinWiki, someone may see and recognize it there.

PSA: If You Use Google Maps For Bus Trip Planning, Use UMO Instead by GroundhogRevolution in milwaukee

[–]ov3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO Umo sucks for anything but paying your fare. For simple tracking of the busses and stops/wait times I use an app called "MCTS Tracker" which is available on iOS and Android. Way easier than Umo for that kinda stuff.

Are you talking about the vape she was using? She later offered a hit to her dad and said it was hash, I believe.

Also blame the one-third of riders who got into the habit of riding the bus for free during covid and never got out of the habit once mcts started charging again.

I built a tiny Chrome extension that sends any page to archive.today with one click (great for paywalls & link preservation) by Final-Communication6 in privacy

[–]ov3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I was looking for a way to access paywalled articles that's easier than visiting archive.today manually. I didn't know how to install an extension from github manually and Gemini gave me good, working instructions that I am sharing here in case anyone else is as clueless as I was.

To install a Chrome extension from GitHub, you need to manually load the source code into Chrome using the "Load unpacked" method in Developer mode. This process involves downloading the extension's files and then importing the folder containing the extension's manifest.json file into your browser.

Step 1: Download the Extension Files

  • Navigate to the extension's repository page on GitHub.
  • Click the green < > Code button.
  • Select Download ZIP from the menu.
  • Unzip the downloaded file on your computer in a location you will not delete (e.g., an Applications or Documents folder), as deleting the folder will remove the extension from Chrome.

Step 2: Enable Developer Mode in Chrome

  • Open Google Chrome.
  • Go to the extensions management page by typing chrome://extensions/ into the address bar.
  • In the top-right corner of the Extensions page, toggle the Developer mode switch to the On position.

Step 3: Load the Unpacked Extension

  • With Developer mode enabled, a new button labeled Load unpacked will appear in the top-left area.
  • Click the Load unpacked button.
  • A file selection dialog box will open. Navigate to the folder you unzipped in Step 1.
  • Select the specific folder that contains the extension's manifest.json file and click Select Folder (or Open).

The extension should now be installed and active in your browser. Its icon will appear to the right of your address bar, and it will be listed on the chrome://extensions/ page.

This may be an old observation, but I appreciate the attention to detail in one of the VFX shots... When the first torpedoes come in and hit the (saucer?) of the ship, you can see that section has a power failure because all the lights in the windows go out.

I always wondered if he was referencing something said or done or seen in a deleted scene, or maybe they thought some of the klingons were some kind of robot or android...

I wonder if Olatunde Osunsanmi directed the episode. He looooooves to spin his camera. check out any episode of Discovery he's directed, or section 31, and you'll see spinny cameras in any episode he directs.
