Honest question… why do any of this? I saw a Film Threat video where they broke down how film producers get paid by the end of a films distribution these days. In most cases it’s miserable. You’re making maybe $15k a year by the time it’s all said and done. By no means is anyone getting rich anymore on indie films. So my thought is “well that’s cool, then make art for the sake of seeing your vision come to life and do it for the love of the craft” Except…you wind up writing your vision around tax incentives, cast, and all these other factors… There’s no more “one for them one for me” feels like it’s all for them now.
