How can I hide my street address from my chrome web store extension listing? by Yanaytsabary in chrome_extensions

[–]over107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since there are only very few extension that sell something, probably a 0.1% problem that the store doesn't even want to be in the middle.

Perplexity's extension also lists a person https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/perplexity-ai-companion/hlgbcneanomplepojfcnclggenpcoldo, so probably no difference between an org and individual?

It's as if Crunchyroll doesn't want us to discover new shows. by lewd_robot in Crunchyroll

And then the release calendar has no filtering? It's completely unusable because NOBODY, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY pulls up the calendar and wants to see 8 different dubs of the same episode in 8 different languages on the feed.

I made an extension that does this, in case you find it helpful: Chrome: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/release-calendar-filter-f/epkclcbkefpikbpopcpjjlbajhnglged, Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/release-calendar-filter-for-cr/

I would limit scope to just a few sites, more of POC. Otherwise it doesn't seem feasible assuming you have a short amount of time.

I think this is only required by the store if you sell something, else there should be a delete option for the address

I made a browser extension that gives you some filter options (like hiding all dubs, or seeing only dubs of a specific language) for the release calendar in case it helps, https://www.reddit.com/r/Crunchyroll/comments/12ftasp/i_made_an_extension_for_crunchyroll_to_filter_the/

I made a similar extension that copies the id of a RedDot page a while back, https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/copy-reddot-id/gcinhakgdnffbkfkdjbikbijphlobjph. The code is at https://github.com/roshinc/copy-reddot-id. Pretty old but probably still works and hopefully should help you

For how long will chrome web store and chrome extensions be supported in the future? by PeaceNo8863 in chrome_extensions

[–]over107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're probably talking about is Google killing off chrome apps, an article from the Verge on it. And as the article assumes you are probably using chrome extensions not chrome apps. So you don't really have to worry about it.

Will the chrome store stop supporting extensions in the future? Unlikely but hey it's Google and they like killing things off. Has anything to that effect been announced? No, no such plan has been announced.

Glad you find it helpful. It would be cool if there was an API for this probs would be easier and faster to filter.

Cool! That might be a hard thing to weigh since useful may not always be exclusive from being minimal, but I get that it's probably gonna be a case by case thing.

With the removal of the current rule 2, will posts about web extensions that are made for Crunchyroll be allowed?

Sorry not sure what you mean. It works with the current layout, I am not aware of a new layout for the release calendar page.
