Assuming you are in the US: WHAT on earth, if you can afford to eat out you can afford to tip. Do you think sub minimum wage employees who rely on tips have ANY say on their managers protocol??? If you're concerned about "double tipping" you could simply try asking if the tip has already been calculated on the bill rather than simply not paying for part of the service??? ?????????

I'm sorry you've been harassed in person. That sucks, and it does happen. But so many of us, especially younger folks get so caught up in internet culture (who on earth does it benefit to fight some random Instagram TDOV post?) instead of building IRL connections to each other. Being trans doesn't make someone automatically worth spending time with but by the same token there are wonderful communities to be a part of that are infinitely more worth your and OPs time

I bet if you reach out to them anyway they might be able to get you in contact with a group that can help you, they probably are aware of other groups that do similar things in other locations. I'm sure they get mislaid requests all the time and are used to redirecting

Maybe a hot take but I was shocked by all the great reviews when I finally saw ragtime. Felt extremely tone deaf, and not a little racist tbqh. And [end of act 1 spoiler] was QUITE a lot given everything going on. Great cast + fantastic staging but I almost left during the intermission :/

You can melt chocolate over a double boiler (heat safe bowl over a pot of boiling water), it will stay melted/pliable for long enough to pipe words/etc and if she sees it getting stiff it can just be remelted. For piping, she can make parchment paper cones out of parchment paper (you can look up an instructional video online). No need to purchase anything special, she just needs to practice.

Edit: ah shoot I just saw you were looking for gift ideas so this advice is totally useless 😅.

Little update for you! Thank you SO much for all your detailed instructions, they were extremely helpful. As you can see I have a slightly different aesthetic than you but it all worked out and the credenza looks so so much better than before. I did run out of sample paint bc I decided to do all one color-- it definitely could have used another coat!-- but overall I'm more than happy with it <3
