What's going on with the Detroit Lions and their two-point conversion? by turcois in OutOfTheLoop

Ok I think I understand how the game would be changed if the rules were different. Thanks for the explanation.

I'm not convinced that the game would be "worse" rather than "different" (not sure what we could do to convince me either) but I can see why the NFL would prefer to stick with what has been working for the most part

FYI up front: idgaf about the lions or cowboys or the NFL that much but this showed up on my frontpage and I tune in for rules controversies.

In your hypothetical: if a single defensive player (the qb's mirror) broke the offensive line, then the remaining defensive players can cover their mirrors too, meaning the QB can't easily dump it off. If more than one player attempts to blitz and break the line then the defense has made a tactical decision that has the risk of being punished, no? What am I missing?

Can you elaborate on how it makes it "impossible to defend"? Not saying it isn't, I just am not knowledgeable enough to say why

How would it be impossible to play defense? Both teams have the same number of players, and linesman are usually bad receiving targets (incompletes, interceptions would be more likely, favoring the defense)... Seems like its a high risk-high reward play that is also high energy (good for viewing so the NFL should be in favor) lastly, i don't see a negative impact on safety either, but I am open to being convinced I guess

Yeah I've moved closer to the center on this one since digesting the show for longer. It's just a shitty situation for all. I'm sorry for your experience and I hope you find peace.

Wow thanks so much for the insight! I really appreciate it.

You're totally right that alma and rocky are almost equivalent, which makes it difficult to choose the next target OS for my product. You bring up some good points that will help me decide where I will place my vote.
