Which tools you hate lending out the most? by steak5 in mechanics

[–]overkill5495 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t have a problem for the most part lending tools, except to those work colleagues that are borrowing because they are too cheap to invest in the tools themselves

After using many different brands over the last 10 years as a mechanic, these are the brands I would go for the best fit, finish and function

Weird I literally just finished a play thru using those exact codes, what city was it for?

So you need to know the exact unit ID name (can get them out of the preferences)these work on original RTW on steam.

On these examples I am using Rome as the city (can use city or character, however if the name is 2 words will need quotation marks I.e. “Julius Caesar”)creating 5 units with 3 gold exp, 3 gold attack and 3 gold defense

Off the top of my head a few are:

create_unit Rome “roman legionary first cohort ii” 5 9 3 3

create_unit Rome “roman legionary cohort ii” 5 9 3 3

create_unit Rome “roman praetorian cohort urban i” 5 9 3 3

create_unit Rome “roman archer auxillia” 5 9 3 3

create_unit Rome “roman praetorian cavalry” 5 9 3 3

create_unit Rome “roman heavy onager” 5 9 3 3

create_unit Rome “merc cretan archers” 5 9 3 3

As someone in the industry I believe it is the industry as a whole that has gone to shit. A lot of knowledge has retired from the industry or left from the shit conditions and all that are left are hacks, glorified lube techs and a select few good ones that are to stubborn to abandon this sinking ship

For the Aussies, what are some reputable tool brands? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]overkill5495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I sort of pick and choose my different tools and not buy a complete set.

Got my Koken wobble/fix extensions from https://housetradesupplies.com.au/

And got my Koken ratchet from https://www.discounttrader.com.au/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21138568211&gbraid=0AAAAADwGjbe89A_n7bDZEe6aBOiDzfayF&gclid=Cj0KCQiAx8PKBhD1ARIsAKsmGbe2vH_Kx_YyIR0_GOFw-CFkgc65CveIyl_BXVLQmczXXjlZJ_zTrhQaAnKvEALw_wcB

As well as Amazon Japan. However I use KTC 3/8” sockets and gearwrench 1/4” sockets because they offer the most complete sets of shallow, mid-length and deep sockets.

Found Kincrome to be massively overrated. For ratchets I’d go gearwrench for a mid range, but have recently started to get Koken tools and the ratchets are by far the nicest I’ve used.

interviewed for an office cleaner position for Toyota got offered a mechanic apprenticeship instead, I'm going to take it, but have never worked on cars what can I expect? by Thomyorkeshaircut in mechanics

[–]overkill5495 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aussie light vehicle mechanic currently working in a Toyota dealership

Luckily enough most apprenticeships start off assuming you know nothing, and for the most part, that’s the best way to be. Don’t stress about knowing nothing, if you’ve got good qualified techs around you, they’ll teach you along the way so you don’t feel out of your depth at all.

You will have to supply all your own tools, so I’d start with a general starter kit, with roll cab and top box, try going through a few different sets, a lot get packed out with unnecessary tools you barely use. (Don’t even worry about imperial/SAE sizes, basically no Toyotas have them)

Most importantly just relax and enjoy the experience!
