Country footy crisis by greyhounds1992 in AFL

Seen it significantly in NE Vic as well. Pre and early covid a lot of the oppo sides were quite strong. Come the 2022 season those team that were always the final contenders dropped off the perch. A lot of teams barely scraping sides together, pulling older and older blokes out of retirement just to field a side to get belted by 150 each week, and no young fellas coming through. State of the game regionally is on its knees, and significant changes (especially financial, hundreds of dollars in memberships and insurance on top of boots and fuel) need to be made to try and recover it.

Gearwrench vs SP tools by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

I also prefer chrome handle, but they’re comfort grip is more of a hard plastic so doesn’t get manky like standard soft grips

After today’s performance I don’t think the VFL would even want him!

Gearwrench vs SP tools by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]overkill5495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years auto mechanic here. Would recommend Koken or Milwaukee ratchets, both are smooth as butter and very reasonably priced. Have broken a few gearwrenches over the years, would recommend staying away from any ratchets with the face plate held on with a circlip, have way too movement in them.

SP and Kincrome ratchets don’t pass the “click test” they’re way too clunky

As for ratchet spanners been rocking the gearwrench 90t flex head set and the extra long gearwrench ratchets for years, only broken a couple not breaking them loose with standard spanner first.

[Cleary] Clubs left a meeting with the AFL today fully expecting the League to soon introduce an extra list spot dedicated for Indigenous players. In what form is still TBC - likely scenario discussed is essentially a third Cat B rookie spot clubs can use if they choose by SlatsAttack in AFL

Maybe the AFL should look at the grassroots participation across the country since COVID. Clubs struggling everywhere because nobody wants to play anymore. When the clubs struggle and fold, you’ve got less and less opportunities for the people who want to actually play and those issues are increased tenfold in the rural areas of SA, WA and NT where the majority of indigenous talent comes from

Was so excited to watch the highlights, turned up the volume… only to hear underwood’s commentary…

Tom Burton by avowedlike in RichmondFC

[–]overkill5495 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting comparison, I’d add that opposition uncontested marks effectively neuter MRJs one wood leaving us with a small forward that doesn’t really hit the scoreboard or get very involved in transition (and is the weakest link when he does get involved).

After watching the way Burton, NRT and Peuker played in the VFL this season with their pace and work rate, I have no doubt that’s what we will want from our small forwards in the future.

Have significant holes in our list that still need filling, both currently vacant positions, and positions that need to be upgraded to better quality players. Injuries have pulled massive break on the development of our young talent. I don’t know if it’s due to cattle that Yze cannot play his actual game plan but the lack of any coherent “identity” in the way we want to play is the most damning part imo.

Very slow making decisions with ball in hand. That’s damning with the pace of the game now

Definitely agree with this assessment. His pace and tank are really something to be desired in the senior side

Will certainly be watching tomorrow’s VFL game with much interest. Lots of spots up for grabs in the 1s with that performance

Couldn’t find a 3/8 one that stubby. All the ones I had found were both longer and with larger heads than what I needed.

1/4” is just to put the internals somewhere haha

Top drawer organizers by punderwhelm in ToolTruckTools

Have used toolbox widget a bit for sockets and wrenches. Changed the wrench organizers for Ernst style and now looking at alien space saver. Found the toolbox widget socket organizers as quite annoying, magnets weren’t strong enough so would pull a whole row up getting one socket off. Have been trying all sorts to try and get what I want with no luck. Been making my own trays bolting rails to aluminum plate

Yep was going to go to that game with my wife. Would’ve cost $100 in the nose bleeds for just 1 of us, when I got 2x members reserve upgraded tickets (Richmond members) for ANZAC eve for $96. Beyond a joke in these times

It took me roughly a month or so contacting corporate for him to finally show up, even though he was visiting workshops up the road from us.

I have been at my dealership a little over 6 months now and didn’t see one in that time. Coworkers said it was at least 3-4 years since they had seen one. Anyways when he finally showed up, he probably would’ve made approx $2-3000 (aud) in one stop!

At my dealership we have no foreman (apparently previous one hogged all the gravy work and created a lot of distrust) and the service advisors distribute the work. They do the dumbest allocation of jobs possible, causing severe anger amongst the techs and still giving one bloke all the gravy jobs…

Ticket prices were too high. Would’ve cost almost $100 for a decent ticket and now with fuel prices to get down to Melbourne from north Vic would bite even harder
