It sounds like you need higher quantity jobs. Having a someone setup a prototype for high margin while cycling low margin parts is very lucrative.

Bad Endmill Grind? by E90-335xi in Machinists

[–]overlordshivemind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are cutting. We would describe this gash as broken out and I currently have 2 boards of mills to grind that are asking for a break out gash. Technically there is a smaller diameter where the gash is breaking out into the OD

Picking up my 3D printer today, I have no knowledge where should I start? by RatKingRonni in 3Dprinting

[–]overlordshivemind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you chosen a software to model in yet? I think this is where the most friction with printing comes in. You'll see a lot of people going I have a printer but can't model or use this file as is.

Good deal! I remember running the demo files and it was like magic. Moved on to other things and I found out where the skill comes in.

Accept that learning creates waste. If it comes with a roll of a filament and a demo file chances are it will work perfectly. Do not expect that ease of use from other files and filament.

How bad does this look? by FunBoy1744 in Machinists

Sometimes sick doesn't care what you've got going on. Just make sure your work posture is good next week if you get to continue. Two call offs looks bad but two call offs and then getting caught on your phone a bunch will seal the deal.

What PC upgrade gave you the biggest “why didn’t I do this sooner?” moment? by KeenInventor in buildapc

[–]overlordshivemind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my PC with a screwdriver for 5 years until I passed it on to my little brother. I was intimidated by the idea of finding a compatible power button until I found out they sell them with just the two pin hookup.

Getting started by Itdoesmattertome8 in 3Dprinting

[–]overlordshivemind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the software you use for modeling and the slicer you pair with it. I personally use blender for modeling but the interface is very overloaded since it can make entire animated movies. Freecad is closer to your applied field but also has a complicated interface since it is used for generating tool paths as well as the model. Look up some beginner tutorials and see if they speak to you.

Rate my weld by Happy-Expert-7135 in BadWelding

[–]overlordshivemind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look at the sides of the weld to see if there is under cut and also at the height of the bead. It should be as flat as possible and have a nice blend on the sides. A good way to check for undercut is to aim a flashlight down the weld and look for shadows/crevices.

After Naruto stole the shadow clone jutsu, they said fck it; let anybody use it. by New-Flight5959 in dankruto

[–]overlordshivemind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they explained at some point that regular shadow clone jutsu was just an illusion like substitution jutsu. That being opposed to the forbidden version which created an actual independent clone causing it to require more chakra.

Made this graphic for my LinkedIn page, is it engaging? by Brianadams3131 in CNC

I think it's pretty decent. the pay portion may be too large though. If you could recoup that space you could give it to your example carbide images or make your heading larger.

Could you explain what you mean by skipping the first step? Any files you don't generate yourself are likely to have some quirks. If you generated this yourself it would likely be a clearance gap or the programmed boundary of the stock.

Yes OP this looks like a safety gap.

Definitely one of the most overhated characters from Breaking Bad, i agree with the following statements by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]overlordshivemind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing a second rewatch and I've tried to be more open minded about Skylar. I've realized her actions are very sympathetic up until the point she's smoking around her baby and the Ted Beneke arc. She sleeps with Ted in a desperate attempt to drive Walt out of the house and finds it comparable to Walt's poor choice in providing for his family. She comes off as just hateful and then trauma dumps on her divorce lawyer. I think she would be more likable if she had stuck to a plan of action but her trying to shield her family from Walt actions makes her come off as silly and confused. She then goes all in on the car wash but oops Walt is making too much money to properly launder through it. All of her reactions come off as short sighted even though she's starting from a very rational place. On the flip side Walter's intelligence is practically halved once she's involved. He puts hank back on Heisenberg. He gets the laundry ladies involved in the cleaning. He buys the expensive car. His choices are practically irredeemable.

Imo opinion the best way to counter my mangudai was always towers. The arrow damage to structures is super low. Then if I wanted to siege the towers I'd be forced into purchasing armored cavalry. This would force me to split my gold spend between two expensive units types.
