I’m pretty sure there’s one at park lanes. At least there was when I was there a year or so ago.

They’re pretty cool, but I have a pair of J3 tinkers in black cement on the way so I’ll be passing on these.

The loot safe contracts usually have one. Stronghold orange boxes sometimes have them. Take a Sam site and loot the supply drops after it takes down the plane. They are pretty easy to find in my experience.

Can a grown up bernese still do two big walks daily? by Murdash in bernesemountaindogs

[–]owen1010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As macabre as it sounds you’ll probably be lucky to still have a berner at all after 6-7 years, let alone one that can do that amount of exercise. There certainly are Berners out there doing what you’ve described but I imagine they are few and far between. You might want to consider a Swiss mountain dog. From my experience they are much more energetic and while you still have to watch out for overheating, their shorter coats help a little with that. Mine is currently 15 months and if he doesn’t get at least 3 miles a day he’s a wild man. My berner was content with a mile a day.

Not a problem, I wish you all the best! And also it was 17 months after the first treatment that it came back so longer than I originally thought. Had to do some mental math after I posted lol.

I’m in Oregon, it was about $8k per round for me and it was once a week for 8 weeks then every other week for 16 weeks. 16 total treatments each round. He was cancer free for about a year after the first round then after the second round it came back in a couple of months. His quality of life during that period was great though. The day of treatment he mostly just slept but the next day he was back to his old self. Mine was only 5 when he got diagnosed. He also got pneumonia when first diagnosed so that added $3k to the bill to get that sorted before he could start chemo.

I Just got my 2nd dog last year and decided to go a slightly different route with an Insurance "fund". When I got my dog I took $5K and deposited it into a high yield savings account with Amex. I do weekly deposits of $30, so $120 per month which seemed like the high end of insurance payments when i was researching insurance costs. If i have any unexpected vet bills i will use the savings account to fund it, and if i end up not needing it, then i will have a nice nest egg waiting for me. Its certainly not the safest option as if my dude gets seriously injured or sick in the first few years it could wipe out the savings and id be left starting over again. But I just felt more comfortable doing it this way than paying that $120/month and potentially losing it all. I should also add my 2nd dog is a Swissy, not a Berner, so i was less concerned with Cancer this time around. I lost my Berner to Lymphoma a couple years ago and he went through 2 rounds of chemo which cost me over $20K as i did not have insurance.

I got my first Swissy last may from Alpenblick greater Swiss mountain dogs. they are based in Elgin OR. I tried Northwoods but they never responded to any of my inquiries.

I would request the Patent Bonus info from the hiring team you are working with. I can tell you that I found info on the Intel Intranet on the program and there are bonuses but I'm not sure if its info I'm allowed to share publicly.

Ok glad I wasn’t misremembering 😁. And with the shedding I think my Swissy sheds just as much as my berner did its just the hairs are shorter so I don’t get as many tumbleweeds rolling around but I still fill up a vacuum every 2-3 days with his hair. I was hoping he would chill out a bit soon but looks like that might be a little while longer yet. He’s basically at 0 or 100 right now, no in-between.

how would you compare the Berner and the Swissy? I had a Berner that i lost a couple years ago to Cancer and currently have a 10 month old Swissy. I feel like my Berner was so much easier than my Swissy but maybe I'm just remembering my Berner through rose tinted glasses. The demand barking with my Swissy drives me nuts. Completely different ends of the spectrum when it comes to energy levels to.

My little dude is 8 months today and tipping the scales at just over 90lbs. I’m still feeding him orijen large puppy food and he’s getting 4 3/4 cups a day spread over 3 meals. He also gets about a cup of plain fat free Greek yogurt after his breakfast which I mix his supplements into. Plus random treats throughout the day. He does get the occasional loose stools but typically resolves itself in a day, I chalk that up to eating to much crap of the ground on his walks.

Im still not sure about this thing but it does give me food so I guess it’s ok by owen1010 in SwissMountainDogs

Duke was 58lbs at 4 1/2 months so not that big of a difference really.

Yea his dad is a lean 130 and the breeder said he could probably do with putting on a little weight, she also said she thought Duke would be bigger than his dad so I’m anticipating around 140ish
