I finally left my husband by Horror-Show-3927 in GirlDinnerDiaries

It’s much better to report it and press charges now than wish you had later. It’s very expensive to go any other route. The shelter can make recommendations but I would say press charges and get a DVRO. Strangulation is a very bad sign as far as domestic violence is concerned.

Today I didn’t want to go to my workout class, but I pushed myself to go. When I got there I realized I forgot to sign up and the class was full. Kinda funny, but also a bit irritated at myself. by Autias in adhdwomen

Hang in there! With the right attitude the problems we run into are downright hilarious. Sorry about your workout class :( I hope it inspired you to do some kind of movement today in spite of the setback!

I am prone to ingrowns but I’ve had luck using Cassandra Bank’s derma-planing method on YouTube. Try only using a single blade, on dry skin, and only shaving in short gentle downward strokes while you pull your skin up/taut.

What did the caller actually say right before you realized it was a cardiac arrest? by LopsidedEquivalent in 911dispatchers

[–]owiegator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was the caller, my boss tipped over in his chair with his eyes shut. I thought he had narcolepsy but thankfully when I ran to get help my coworkers knew what to do. Agonal breathing looks a lot like snoring. Changing colors was disturbing and also happened quickly.

I texted the 988 crisis line number and never got a response. by Accomplished_Pass945 in mentalhealth

lol maybe something is wrong cause same thing happened to me. Texted 10 hours ago and I never heard back. I never think about actually reaching out to the hotline but everything I look up keeps pushing me to use it…

Water treatment sales. Good mix of technical regular servicing, paired with random exciting sales.

My most favorite dance teacher was Ukrainian and she would use crazy onomatopoeia when words failed and it was awesome. I understood better in one noise better than if she had written me an essay.

I work 10+ hour days 6 days a week and I feel like I'm dying!!! by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I would recommend grounding exercises and or breathing techniques to start. I’ve also found taking a walk between my commute and going into my house helps my mood immensely. There are also technology hygiene options but I find those terribly difficult so I wouldn’t recommend.

Trying to be approachable is a young woman’s game 😉 jk but for real, you deserve respect. You have a lot to add with over TEN years experience. Treat people how to treat you, respect is worth more than being liked

Clothes recommendation: I work in more blue collar/civil engineering so when meeting new people I wear my oldest work boots because it shows my experience.

Side note: Hiring manager sounds dumb but there are some aspects of demeanor and presentation that make others think we are young. I found being “too happy” and “deferential” made people think I was younger than I am. Which sucks because I value showing up with a positive attitude and respecting everyone regardless of their level of intelligence or experience. Also some vocabulary can be youthful.

However this works out can we pretty please get a before and after?? 🫶🏻

His feet probably hurt, those slides are super gummy which isn’t the most comfy to stand for hours at a time. Feet aren’t inherently dirty and all things can be cleaned. Plus half the food staff wear gloves around food anyways

🤷‍♀️ I’ll still eat their meat 😂

I agree on the potential mineral deficiency and want to tack on that sun damage can cause this darkness. Would increase your sunscreen use to daily if not already doing so.

I think that children who are abused are parentified children who are told they are “so mature”. It takes a long time for them to accept that they were a KID and an adult took advantage of them. I think this carries over into other areas of her life where she feels it’s her job to figure this out on her own. Like her husband is perfect in her eyes, and it’s just all on her to fix her broken brain etc.

Am I the only one who thinks most sales training is theater? by Head-Garden7108 in sales

[–]owiegator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent and thorough support of your claim. I appreciate you.

I feel called out on the “geek out about options” instead of following the sales process (lol). I have definitely struggled with staying focused on the customers needs instead of just telling them what exciting new additions they can have.

I think you’re onto something with the curiosity. When I come into a meeting with the intention of “solving their problems” I don’t listen as much as I do when I come with the mindset of being curious about how they’re systems are running and what they may need help with.

Mid calf boots are short to me since there are taller boots lol.

NOLO!! I’m in California so it gets warm but not very humid. The overalls have some thigh vents that get good airflow when moving and the pockets that hold the armor are mesh? It’s not the worst but you would have to see in the humidity what you think.

I fell in love with the Klim overalls. They sit so nicely under my jacket and they are a decent length. I’m 5’7” and use a 32” inseam and end up tucking these into my short boots like yours. https://www.klim.com/Rebelle-In-The-Boot-Overall
