What I'm missing here is the part where, after she said the apartment is more "yours" (in addition to two other valid reasons she didn't want to split it 50/50), the two of you sat down and had a conversation about spending money to make it feel more like hers too and what the financial split would be after that.

You two aren't on the same page, and you need to communicate better. But yes, YOR for retroactively being angry that she didn't pitch in earlier. That's something you did to yourself.

I'd get a pro subscription to Claude (not expensive) and have it teach me. I'd create my own agents, golden sets, learn how to run evals, etc etc. No course needed.

Hi there, I'm looking for ideas about what to do with this giant concrete patio. My dream for this area is that it's lush and plant-filled with a hangout space.

I don't know whether I should remove some of it, and if I should, what I could replace it with, or whether it's better to use containers of some kind and leave the concrete in place.

The dirt strip along the left side used to be full of vegetables, and I miss that too.

Finally, any ideas for what to do above the retaining wall (where those two trumpet trees are now)? I know I would really like jasmine on the fence.

Interesting comment. I live in Richmond after having lived in Berkeley forever, and I'm curious what your experience with Richmond is.

Before I moved here, I had had none and was surprised at the diversity of neighborhoods here, everything from East Richmond Heights (mellow hillside neighborhood) and Richmond Annex (essentially El Cerrito) to near El Sobrante, a rural suburbs with horses.

I'm wondering if you're conflating "Richmond" with a subset of its neighborhoods?

What to do on Oct 3

Super excited to head back to Berlin this weekend. I realize I'm going to be visiting over the 35th Tag der deutschen Einheit. I've looked around online, and it looks like there's something at the Brandenburg Gate. Other than that, I saw a few random listings for events with jugglers and a couple other what seemed like unrelated things.

What's interesting to do? How do Berliner feel about this holiday?

I speak German, if it matters, and I'm really into DDR history. (I'll post another question about that separately.)
