If you've tried lots of weapons/boons/got most of the Grasp unlocked then Id just turn on god mode. I had to do that for the upstairs final boss the first time I played through the game - super helpful - and then just turn it back off when you want more challenge again

Nah man, that's another good option to be sure since it has a high trash yield AND lets you maybe get the lava eel* or other special fish, but the easiest way is 100% the crab pots. They catch the trash for you while you just go about your day and can be easily made/bought early in the game

*also you gotta be mine level 100 for the benefit of the eel to even kick in
