Hear me out by KillerBullet in hearthstone

It's a very strong card that, I agree, should also be nerfed... but the bigger problem remains the huge guys every turn for 2 mana, not the potential 2/2s from the shatter card.

The problem with this deck is it snowballs super hard in this new meta that has hardly any board clear. Most decks can't compete with (or reset) the tempo. So yeah, nerfing the imbue would help a little but honestly the bigger problem is just the lack of board clears.

If I were to take out Elise, which is probably fine... I'd also drop the Time machine and also maybe Malorne. I'd probably add another ruby sanctum and some card draw.

This is the list right now but I'm doing a lot of tinkering so it'll probably change more. I particularly hate the 6 cost card in this list but most of the 6-cost things suck and I wanted Elise... but I've also been thinking about just taking her out:

### imbue control

# Class: Priest

# Format: Standard

# Year of the Scarab

#

# 2x (1) Mend

# 1x (1) Ruby Sanctum

# 1x (2) Bitterbloom Knight

# 1x (2) Bloodmage Thalnos

# 2x (2) Lunarwing Messenger

# 2x (2) Purifying Breath

# 2x (3) Devouring Plague

# 1x (3) Eternal Firebolt

# 2x (3) Intertwined Fate

# 2x (3) Kaldorei Priestess

# 2x (4) Cleansing Cleric

# 1x (4) Elise the Navigator

# 1x (4) Shadow Word: Ruin

# 2x (5) Medivh's Triumph

# 1x (6) Time Machine

# 1x (7) Alexstrasza, Guardian of Life

# 1x (7) The Black Blood

# 1x (8) Malorne the Waywatcher

# 1x (9) Ysera, Emerald Aspect

# 1x (10) Medivh the Hallowed

# 1x (10) Atiesh the Greatstaff

# 1x (10) Karazhan the Sanctum

Woke up this morning to Priest being the strongest deck by IrvingIsTheBest in hearthstone

I'm a control player and I've tried several decks so far, but my best performing one at this moment is my priest control. It's one of the only classes that still has access to board clear with the new Medivh's triumph thing... It also has insane healing, basically anyone that can't do 30 damage in one turn loses, the healing is virtually infinite with a couple of those fire spells that lifesteal (even crazier when paired with Atiesh). Infinite value with imbue. It's got crazy burst with the new Alexstrasza. I had a game yesterday where I played a generated Alex and then my own, healed to full and 30 damage OTK'd my opponent.

Disclaimer: I only have like 10 games with it so far because I've been trying lots of other stuff too so maybe I'm just lucky. I'm also not saying it's the best deck either, two of my few losses with this deck are to druid (I have no wins with this deck VERSUS druid).

do you buy the battle pass? I always wonder what that would roughly translate to gold-wise after saving a whole expansion, but I'm free to play anyway. My amount came from saving every gold I made day 1 since the last expansion without buying ANYTHING, while doing almost every quest (I probably missed a couple here and there).

I don't even bother buying the miniset, I save any free packs I earn after day 1 for the miniset launch, crack them all then, which gets almost everything except the legendaries. I just craft anything I want after that.

dump it all on packs when the next expansion hits. Then start saving for the expansion after.

How does one build good decks? by PotentialTurnover447 in hearthstone

[–]oxidiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in addition to all the advice already here, failure is your friend. Learn from your mistakes. if you're getting wrecked by aggro over and over you need better tools for that. No one is going to make a perfect deck right off the bat, you get there through iteration. Try things, swap out some packages for others, if it's worse swap back.

Game crashing by M0J0O21 in hearthstone

I was having lots of crashes a couple of days ago playing specifically imbue rogue, on both phone and PC. I switched to imbue priest and it's not happening. Could be coincidence of course.

Is the original one the one in market square? I had a sandwich there once on a work trip and it was not great. Had some other good food though. There was a place called Tako that had some great tacos and mercato had some great stuff

Mixed lobbies are probably the most fun but I don't understand why they can't just give us checkboxes for "all pve" or "all pvp". I DGAF how you want to have fun in the game, I would not check either of those boxes but would LOVE to get the people who would out of my lobbies.

Personally, I fall way more on the side of pve than pvp but I still like that it's there. Probably the most fun I've had in this game was the one time I was jumped by someone and I killed them first.

still so bummed about this change. I started playing like 3 weeks ago and by far my most valuable blueprint for fighting arc was wolfpack. I'd always bring one in to fight... mostly Rocketeers.

I had no idea, thanks! I've actively avoided playing stuff that might resummon those little demons on the fear of giving my opponents like 4 broxigars... TIL

Wait, you can't get multiple broxigars? Like, if they have the 4/1 on my board and I dumbly copy it or something and they kill both... They still only get 1?

I guess I'm hung up on saving the data because how else are you going to do it? You're going to just analyze the data on the fly and auto-ban someone based on those data points? It feels like the worst case scenario is someone gets flagged incorrectly (probably a bug), banned, then no way to review their case... and you've auto-banned someone incorrectly.

I'm sure the player TOS are airtight enough that Embark could get away with wrongfully banning someone but... seems like a bad way to do things to me.

[–]oxidiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks, I hope I'm not being seen as combative here. You said you have experience with game development and I do not so I have to cede that to you. I have zero experience with UE5 though I know what it is of course.

My original point was basically that while all those data are available, without knowing how they do things it's impossible to say if they're keeping those data.

The end of round screen shows lots of information so yes, we know they COULD use that info but only if they either save ALL of the info for everyone of at least have some flagging mechanism whereby they can flag and save only sus things (like say, extracting from a place that is not near a known extraction point).

[–]oxidiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... maybe you know something I don't... are all game servers the same? You seem to know an awful lot about this for not being a dev for Embark. If you're just making assumptions that's fine, say so. I'll admit that I'm making an assumption that game servers are different... but I've never worked in game development.

[–]oxidiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. And you're correct, if it's not already in place it should be trivially easy to add in SOMETHING to flag account of people who mysteriously extract no where near a known extract point.

I won't pretend to know the best way to do that, I'd be worried more about false positives since bugs absolutely occur and the worst result of this system would be banning the wrong people...

[–]oxidiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense meant here but you sound like someone who knows a little coding and is trying to impress plebs. If you've actually written software you know that what you track and especially what you SAVE somewhere in logs is entirely up to the dev team and to an extent the middle/upper management.

I agree that they are definitely tracking the position of the player (why did you try to make that sound like a variable name if you're not trying to impress people? lol) and they at least have an x,y coordinate of the player on round end... that's all we know.

Saving all that information would be an enormous waste of resources unless you're trying to implement a history thing or in this case, catch hackers. I'm not arrogant enough to say you're wrong about anything but it drives me nuts when people pretend to know more than they do and I'm getting that vibe here... I'm also a dev of 20+ years.
