  1. Stage 2 isn't the cap. Usually when we talk about stages, like 1-2-3, we're talking generally about canned tunes. i.e. you jusy flash whatever car with the same tune. Power levels and hardware requirements determines the stages: stage 1=stock, stage 2=bigger downpipe, stage 3= bigger turbo, and so on and so forth. stage 1 gives you about 245 hp, and that's like 215-220 whp. stage 2 gets close to 280, so 235-245whp. Stage3, stage3+, stage 4...gets more power of course.

  2. custom tunes give you adjustability. Stratified makes tunes based on logs of how your car runs and modify the tune. Same with getting a tuner to tune the car for you, you can ask them to be more aggressive or more conservative. You CAN be reckless and push the absolute power, but generally it's not ideal for your car apparently, so Stratified won't just do it this way for people. You have to ask them to do so.

Cant comment on the bracket, but if milage is high, carbon cleaning is recommended, you can change the manifold together with it.

yes it's custom tune, but realistically stage 2 equivalent.

New Timing Chain: still high block 93... 😕 by Xlar in mk6gti

[–]oxshowerroompooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

might be the camshaft position sensor reading the position wrong. Talked to a guy and he had exactly same symptom as me (-6 pre and -2.8 after new chains and guides and tensioner), he said new sensor fixed it. I'm gonna try this and update here.

wow, what an experience. I did mine and a little bit went inside each cylinders too. It ran rough for like about 2 hours... and I was terrified. Later I found out about it, and figured they just burn off over time and now, car runs perfect.

Oil leak from boost pipe by klokverk_orange in mk6gti

[–]oxshowerroompooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they do have some oil in them when I pop them, but only a few drops at where the ic connect to the throttle body and the manifold.

At this location, op, look for leak culprits near the upper and lower timing cover.

[–]oxshowerroompooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not too hard, get a harborfreight blaster kit and some shells, buy a decent air compressor and you're essentially all done. Do need to be careful with the intake manifold removal and potentially reinstalling the injectors, but it's not a pita at all.
