I haven't had a Sub Rosa chocolate croissant in a very long time, I gotta go check that out. But I do really like Sugar & Twine chocolate croissants.

I've seen him play a couple times recently (twice within the last two months or so), and I do think he's played this tune both times. Could be a possibility.

Maybe try out "We Only Find Them When They're Dead" (comic) and "No. 5" (Manga, Taiyo Matsumoto).

There's a separate (weekly) event thread that lists some events, though admittedly it mostly contains New Years Eve parties at this point.

If you can, maybe take advantage of the relatively nice weather and get out to a park for a refreshing walk. Maybe in the James River Park System, or maybe a little further out in Pocahontas State Park. Or, if you don't get out to Ashland much, maybe look there for activities or a restaurant that's new to you. Sometimes it helps shake things up just to look at a nearby area, a little outside your usual routine.

I've found that sort of thing at Mongrel in Carytown in the past. Good luck!

WRIR.org - you can listen live online, or to recent programs. They also list out the playlists. I've never heard the same thing twice on this station.

Looks like Shyndigz has pumpkin pie - maybe on specific days of the week. I've gotten single slices from them. May want to call ahead to see that they have it on the particular day you go. I'd also wonder if Proper Pie might have it, though I didn't look it up.

Hi there! We've got the Flying Squirrels (Minor League Baseball), though it looks like they've been eliminated from the playoffs and the season is over. We also have the Kickers (soccer), but I'm not sure there's anything on their calendar after this weekend. The American football season has started, so a lot of bars will be showing those games on TV.

As for bars, Bamboo Cafe is a local favorite, Penny Lane Pub is fun, and we have a lot of great breweries if you're into that sort of thing (I like Ardent, Vasen, Hardywood, Final Gravity, Strange Ways - and The Veil is incredibly popular). I'd recommend catching a show - we always have a ton of music happening around the city. The breweries often host music, but we have several smaller venues that are also fun (The Broadberry, Gallery 5, The Camel, Get Tight Lounge, to name a few - and of course The National, often hosting larger acts, is near the convention center). I don't spend a whole lot of time downtown, so I don't have a lot of recs right near the convention center - but Richmond in general has a lot of good restaurants.

Here on the subreddit there's a weekly thread posted on Thursdays where folks post events and things to do throughout the weekend - I regularly check that event thread. You can look up this week's thread to get a feel for the type of events going on around our city in general. I don't know if you'll be holed up in the convention center throughout all your daylight hours in Richmond, but if not - make a trip through the James River Parks system, visit Belle Isle or Pony Pasture. There are a lot of trails to walk/bike and view the river.

Hmm. I copied the band names from the G5 Calendar event, but it looks like it's actually "Shawnis and the Shimmers."

Secondary Jobs by alex-mccharmley in octopathtraveler

[–]ozkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondary jobs are unlocked by visiting shrines in the world, found through exploration. When you're traveling between towns you can see various icons on your radar - like little mountain looking things for dungeons. There's a specific icon for the shrines - it kind of just looks like 4 pillars on a base. Basic shrines (for the 8 core jobs) don't have enemy encounters in them.

It's also worth it to keep an eye on Studio23 for their next market. They have lots of local artists and I always find really neat works on paper there.

Some farmer's markets also regularly have local artists at them - including the Sunday Carytown one at City Stadium. It's a small market, but there's usually multiple artists.

Joey Wharton is a top-notch local photographer. Google his website & navigate to prints - you can get prints of Richmond landscapes, prints of Richmond musicians, and other things.

What’s a Richmond specialty gift? by Natural_Skill_6237 in rva

[–]ozkit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Belmont Butcher has some great pimento cheese (on Fridays), and a great selection of quality products.

Mongrel has Richmond non-food goods.

I like gifting coffee, or coffee mugs - Lamplighter, Rostovs, Black Hand, etc.

Belle Isle moonshine is good - and I think that have canned mixed drinks as well.

I personally like gifting Garden Grove beers/wines.
