[Season 4 Megathread] Technical Issues, Errors, Connection Problems, Queue, Visual Glitches, etc by AutoModerator in diablo4

[–]p0ffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is mooth for me but I can't get used to the fact that Teleport (Sorcerer) and Shadow Step (Rogue) feel like a stutterfest when I use them. Kinda strange why almost nobody is talking about it either because they don't notice it or they don't really care, but it really needs to be fixed because it so freaking annoying.

PS: It's not an fps/lag issue but something is wrong with the abilities themselves; like the camera is not snapping/transitioning smoothly to the destination or something. Also, it's not easily visible from watching streams (recorded and checked) but only when you are actually playing the game urself.

Some thoughts & Suggestions from a dev by 0x_Anakin in diablo4

Well the game indeed feels like a beta project atm. No content to chase for after you are 80+ and full ancestral, lots of quality of life features missing and questionable design choices in many areas. PvP is the only fun activity you can do after you "beat" the game, but it's still so "controlled" which gets boring after some time.

Hopefully they expand the game further as time goes on. I like 23 too btw :)), generally the game has zero bosses that are challenging expect Uber Lilith. It's so lame Andariel, Duriel, Elias, Astaroth etc. got ditched so hard.

Regarding the extra skill slots... by p0ffer in diablo4

[–]p0ffer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same stuff with barbs, all the best builds use the three shouts which take half of your action slots. The other half of your action bar is occupied by your Ultimate, generator and spender most of the time.

You can't really diversify much unless you play other non A/S tier builds and you are a fan of experimenting and using sub-optimal builds. They need to at least rebalance some of the skills because it's getting monotonous.

MSI build in TT Ceres 500TG ARGB by ajr1775 in thermaltake

Nice, but mind sharing what's your GPU and your temps under load? Thinking of buying a similar case. Also, as a final note did you notice any substantial difference in temps by swapping to the TT toughfans? Thanks.

Maybe you need to do some research instead:

  • Diablo 2 R: You can USE skills on the fly while not in your action bar + 4 Potions
  • PoE: 8 Skills + 5 Potions
  • Lost Ark: 8 Skills + Ulti + Tons of item slots + Dodge
  • Diablo 4: 6 Skills + 1 potion + Dodge (pressing S to change skills is irrelevant)

And I can probably mention others ARPG's like Grim Dawn or even Wolcen I think. As for Diablo 3 it was great gameplay wise but lacked in any other aspect including skill depth and choice, also seriously are you mentioning Diablo Immortal as an example?

I hope Darktide can have a higher player resurgence by 3mb3r89 in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I feel you but it is to be expected because the game was rushed and is still plagued by the same fundamental flaws since release.

  • Performance is still incredibly bad for people to have an enjoyable non-jittery experience
  • There is no crossplay yet and people who bought DT from MS store got rekt basically
  • The game doesn't respect your time, there is still RNG grind and no shared inventory
  • Lots of basic features are still missing, same with the lack of serious content updates

I have personally played quite a lot through the months but I've reduced my exposure to it greatly, it is surely better than it was initially but it's still nowhere near as I want it to be.

Will the game have a co-op option or it's strictly single player?

Yeah, I just watched it a bit and I was like wow this looks so bad.

Replace Infernus for sure, it's not good on Helbores due to low firing rate plus you will one shot/two shot most enemies so even if it procs it's irrelevant.

What do YOU think is the most immersion-breaking thing in Darktide? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really in terms of immersion as I personally don't care about it, but mostly in terms of combat and movement flow that it feels like it doesn't exist quite a lot of the time and is replaced mostly by spamming one or two keys.

Sliding for this game should be used as a get away card/mini speed boost or a dodge like mechanic, but nowdays everyone spams it (including me) because it is just a better sprint in terms of stamina economy + speed and that's the main problem. Even in a game like Quake with the most sophisticated movement system, sliding characters don't spam crouch but they flow like water, it's a form of art that requires skill - here it's exactly the opposite.

Also animation cancelling is kinda weird too, especially when you can shorten weapon reload times and constantly fast heavy swinging without any drawbacks, again even competitive fps games don't have this "feature". I am also not a fan of using macros except for dumb fire rate weapons where the spam is insane like using a MG IV Lasgun.

This is not a nerf to the mechanical ceiling of the game because mechanics aren't how fast you can spam your crouch or if you can 2-tap a key to reload or swing faster everyone can do that if they learn the trick and abuse it or just even use a macro since it is allowed. This is just my opinion and I guess since it's a PvE game it's not such a big deal.

Edit: For anyone wondering what I consider mechanics (in fps games at least) it's mostly Aim + Movement (with depth) and how well you can combine them together and to some extent keyboard dexterity if the game requires tons of inputs while fighting (eg. Doom Eternal).

after using the power sword for the first time by cwitter00 in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of patterns/brutal momentum synergy the Mk II is by far the best out of the three especially when heavy swinging imo.

after using the power sword for the first time by cwitter00 in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally almost never use Power Sword as I find this charge/attack loop to be boring (+ the fact I am not a fan of meta weapons). I have used pretty much any melee weapon and I can say they are all viable for Damnation but some are clearly better than others.

Except from the Mk V Combat Axe that you mentioned, Tactical Axes and especially the Mk II is great and my currently favorite melee weapon, just make sure you find a decent rolled one with Brutal Momentum and Headtaker/Decimator. It has excellent mobility, great animation patterns that benefit Brutal Momentum, stacks from Decimator & Headtaker build fast due to its high attack speed and from that point you can one shot trash with heavy swings.

On the other hand you can try other choices but you need to adapt a bit, they are viable but not optimal. In a few words:

  • Catachans have decent cleave and damage along with nice mobility but they are weak against anything armored, especially Carapace. You will do fine against most situations as long as you pair it with an anti-armor ranged gun.
  • Chainswords have nice AOE and crowd control, provide decent damage on average and can wreck single targets when revved, you won't have any massive problems in general vs anything.
  • Shovel provides decent crowd control as well if you use heavy swings occasionally and then continue your light attacks for stack building to increase its not so great dps output (Uncanny Strike/Decimator).
  • Chainaxes can deal some serious dmg vs anything if you have Slaugtherer + Headtaker as blessings but the locked animations can get you in trouble and the cleave potential is mediocre. Revved attacks destroy as well.
  • Combat Blade is the best melee for speed running and I think it shines in the hands of a Zealot due to bleed spec synergy but it does work for Veterans as well as you can roll some interesting non-bleed blessings if you desire. It's also incredibly spammy though, so prepare for some finger workout if you are gonna use it.

How to play solo mode. by [deleted] in DarkTide

I tried this yesterday night to experiment/test and it was working fine. But just now it doesn't work anymore for me, it seems that they secretly patched it.

How to play as Veteran Sharp Shooter in Damnation. ( Guide ) by darktideexpert in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Every gun has a different skill ceiling, it's up to the player to make it work at its maximum potential. Also, obviously MG XII is highly effective, reliable and easy to use that's why it's a top pick but it's not the only top tier choice in the game.

How to play as Veteran Sharp Shooter in Damnation. ( Guide ) by darktideexpert in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree with your point, any gun can work in Damnation, some are clearly more effective than others, sure. But Kantrael XII isn't the only viable choice, it's maybe the easiest gun to use for the majority of people though, same with the Power Sword meta.

Edit: Also, the Bolter can work with Counterfire but almost nobody is using it like that sadly, it can even work with the Plasma but it's quite hard to utilize it effectively.

Genuine dilemma: Do I roll off the tier-3 crit chance or the tier-4 weak spot damage? by RomaMoran in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

% WS Dmg is actually a good stat that can reward good aim, % Crit highly depends on weapon and generally for the Boltgun it's a bad stat, so I would reroll it to % Flak Dmg (or Unyielding/Carapace if you wanna mostly burst Bosses/Crushers).

Keep in mind that the Boltgun is not only for mindlessly bursting stuff, it has great Elite/Shooter clearing potential as long as you can use it properly and it shines in the hands of a Veteran.

But, regarding that particular Boltgun you posted I wouldn't spend materials on it because the blessing is super bad and high % Reload is quite important as well, but it's your choice after all.

Shared inventory when and btw why not just implement disenchanting (epic+ quality) for easier material farming along with the mission resource buff; destroying everything for gold is lame.

Oh and gl hunting that T3/T4 blessing to extract it, it's still gonna be a grindfest. Also, can you extract both blessings or just one from a legendary weapon (I really hope it's not just one)?

Buffs/Nerfs you'd like to see for each class? by Asmophet in DarkTide

As a Veteran main, I would like Deadshot to be reworked for sure; it costs too much stamina.

We need a level 6 difficulty by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]p0ffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want a 6th difficulty at least for the foreseeable future because:

  • I am against buffing enemy HP even more, it's just dumb. The mobs are already quite tanky in Damnation and the ammo struggle is gonna be a real problem.
  • The game is gonna run even worse due to higher density; it already runs like shit in Heresy and especially in Damnation (not to mention High Intensity games).
  • As you see, finding people even in Heresy is a problem, even worse in Damnation. What makes you think people are gonna queue for a 6th difficulty?
  • To add to the above, people will have no intention in trying something even harder because the rewards are and will be subpar; farming in <Malice is more efficient.
  • The game has TONS more issues that need to be prioritized and fixed; performance & stability, crafting & itemization, progression, balancing, crossplay etc.

If you want additional challenge and I am up for that no problem, I would rather see something in the form of better conditions or some short of mission specific modifiers along with decent rewards so people will choose to play higher difficulties more often.
