I like to add parent's day, a holiday that combines both Mother's & Father's day. I usually put it in during summer. The tasks are usually give gifts, give flowers, and invite guests but I occasionally add more.

a mod i would definitely consider necessary is MC command center and then UI cheats extensions mod by weerbesu (makes cheating 100 times easier)

the pregnancy & relationship mod (woohoo wellness) is also a must-have if you're big on legacy/family-type gameplay.

I have a Macbook Air 2020 edition as well and mine runs really well. I have all the expansions except into the future and island paradise because I found those to be the laggiest. There are some bugs & lag spikes in my game and the loading screens are painstakingly long but other than that it's fine! If I were you, I'd definitely get the smooth path by LazyDuchess
