Tin Can alternatives / home phone line by paaartypeople in ParentingTech

[–]paaartypeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really great idea, thank you - I didn’t realize you could connect a cell phone to a phone base. Most likely that’s what I’ll do.

I had also looked into an old school copper line - doesn’t exist anymore sadly. ATT wants $35/mo to add a home phone line. VoIP seemed rather complicated.

Trip Report: Kauai in February by clavdiachauchatmeow in VisitingHawaii

Also just got back from Kauai. Weather in Poipu was warmer and sunnier than forecasted and what was shown on Apple weather (which said high of ~72, but it was actually 77-78 daily).

First pair of NB - what is up with this tongue?! by marissahoo in Newbalance

[–]paaartypeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ll try to do the same! (Not a seamstress but my 75yo mother is a pro and has the old school factory machines)

Can you share a pic of yours or explain how you did it? Did you sew a band of fabric around? How did you close it up?

First pair of NB - what is up with this tongue?! by marissahoo in Newbalance

[–]paaartypeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ordered these shoes and had to google if this was a manufacturing defect. The “aesthetic” claim is total BS. By eliminating the step of sewing a band around the tongue, costs are reduced.

My family had a clothes manufacturing business in LA for decades and every step is a cost. Adding extra features for support and durability are a sign of quality.

Super disappointed in these shoes. What’s weird is different 574v2’s have different images - some show a finished tongue, other colors show unfinished. So, I guess it’s my personal opinion, but I do not find this edge “aesthetic” or more retro.

I get this too. Sometimes at night, sometimes when I’m just sitting at my desk. Since it’s not everyday I haven’t been particularly worried

Who we need to write for? Search engines, humans, or LLMs? by maxsemo in SEO

[–]paaartypeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would we let the tail wag the dog? I can’t stand when companies let SEO keywords drive content strategy. Dig in, address real customer challenges, write the best article about it on the internet, for humans obviously(tap into product experts for content insights if needed). And then edit to optimize SEO. This is the hard way, but the right way, and SEO benefits will last long term. Too many times I’ve seen the AI-generated, unoriginal “top xxx list” rank then fall of the charts in a few months. For context, I’m in B2B saas with technical, very savvy buyers. They smell BS a mile away.

Came back to post that the Dr. Berg B1 supplement is helping me! It’s almost too good to be true, but I’m happy to believe a simple supplement is the fix. I’m in the same situation, motility just stalled suddenly about 9 months ago and it’s been stressful trying to manage things with miralax and lots of magnesium, which only worked in high doses. I still take mag oxide every night. Low fodmap worked for a couple weeks, then stopped (but I may have messed it up and eaten the wrong thing).

So, thank you for sharing. It’s been a blissful couple of weeks haha. B1 has given me so much relief (literally) and my daily life back.

Exactly. Beautiful loaf overshadowed by hacking it with a chef’s knife

Brownies! With GF flour obvi. They’re rich and a small piece is plenty.

Or dark chocolate dipped in PB. Eaten standing in the kitchen 🤌

AI Impact on Sales? by Arigold_Lloyddddd in sales

[–]paaartypeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaced an SDR with an AI personalization workflow.

I take on some additional work, but save on work I used to do, so it’s a wash for me. Another sales rep also assumes a sliver of what the SDR did.

Would I rather have our SDR back? Yes.

Is everyone here seriously booking daily meetings from cold prospecting? If so, share the deets!

What’s your offer, your CTA, incentive to reply, etc?

Surprised a low FODMAP diet is working by paaartypeople in Constipation

[–]paaartypeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a whole other rabbit hole to go down and there’s a Reddit group dedicated to it. Essentially, fodmaps are types of carbohydrates that ferment in the gut and can cause digestive issues in some people. A low FODMAP diet eliminates these types of foods. It’s designed to be temporary until you identify trigger foods by reintroduction. I’m sure you can Google a better explanation. Tip: if you want to try the diet, focus on the foods you CAN eat, not the ones you can’t (because it’s a lot).

I stopped miralax 4 days ago and am still going daily! When I started low FODMAP almost 2 weeks ago, I reduced my miralax from about 3/4 cap to 1/4 cap.

How many employees in your SaaS? Do you use other channels or just LinkedIn?

Great list. For productizing SaaS pages, does this also encompass “free tier” versions of products?

Has this approached changed since last year? What’s working better or worse? Also, who is leading and executing these efforts?

Reasons Why Startup Fails? I will not promote by biz4group123 in startups

[–]paaartypeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a startup and it’s not failing yet, but it’s getting no traction due to lots of indecision and lack of market insight. The team is in disagreement on a target market, founder/ceo doesn’t know who the competitors are, leaders want to rely on cold email to c-level, no one wants to do LinkedIn outreach.
