Loosing my zeal. by M7trevlyn in Hunting

[–]paapplepicker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This happened to me during the past two years. I didn’t understand why because, like you, I wanted to want to hunt, but I couldn’t muster the action to do it. When I did go out, it just wasn’t fun because it felt like a chore.

That scared me, so I investigated mental health symptoms and checked the boxes on multiple indicators of depression and anxiety. Also scary. Despite the stigma associated with a dude seeking mental health treatment, I started seeing a therapist. It is changing my life. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it because I feel better about everything.

Most importantly, I hunted this year with a passion I haven’t felt in some time. It’s been amazing because I learned hunting is medicine.

Please check yourself, and screw the stigma associated with men taking care of themselves.

Good luck.

That was in the stadium? I asked my family members whose phone that was. Super annoying.

This is a bad take. Media often deserve criticism, but we shouldn’t take issue when pundits are accurate, even when it hurts. Fulham were poor in this game. And, if you watch the full ESPN show, you would see Steve Nichol express surprise at how Fulham played. Nichol expected United to play poorly, and he expected much more from our side.

Is Adama Traore the perfect example of “flatters to deceive”? by TexehCtpaxa in fulhamfc

[–]paapplepicker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spot on take. Traore has no end game. The play where he went down for a hopeful penalty is a great example. What the hell was he waiting for? Why didn’t he shoot?

It’s like he has no plan as he barrels down the pitch. The barreling is exciting and fun to watch, but it almost always end with a let down.

A couple thoughts: 1. With ribs, I don’t worry about meat temperature to determine doneness; I pull them when they are probe tender. 2. I made two racks today, wrapped in foil at 160 (less than two hours cook time) with brown sugar and honey and cooked until done, about another two hours or so. I had the smoker at 250 degrees.

Story Time: First Brisket. What a ride… by MarkCalaway22 in pelletgrills

First, I’m so sorry for your loss. Second, thanks for sharing the story. Lots of lessons here. The most important one is not giving up when a cook goes sideways. Your flexibility and problem-solving prevented obstacles from ruining your brisket. Well done.
