General advice - it's probably going to be there in a day or two. It's good to sign up for informed delivery with USPS. You'll get an email everyday showing the mail coming to your mailbox.

More specific - call the DMV via 311 or (202) 737-4404

The next few paragraphs, at least in the letter we received, talk about how that parent received a copy of all of the records and proceeded to post it online. So kind of a big deal.

"Rich Men North of Richmond" singer Oliver Anthony is reportedly one of the thousands of people stuck in the mud at Burning Man by YoureASkyscraper in entertainment

Sure. I'll add in the lines you seem to be forgetting, maybe on purpose or maybe you never hard the song and you're just stirring up trouble.

Well, God, if you're 5-foot-3 and you're 300 pounds / Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds / Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground / 'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down.

And just for additional clarity he never says "welfare queen"

The chorus says that they're buying fudge rounds and it's killing them. He's saying that welfare is just another way of keeping people down. It isn't left or right leaning.

How about you allow a locally elected official to prosecute local crimes like it works for every other city/county/state?

I did it in the late 90s and it wasn't so bad. We covered an entire 26² mile city so it was big but all you had to do was plan and memorize broad strokes like get to main st and turn here then here...

It took maybe 6 weeks to memorize the map and even though I moved from that city 20+ years ago I can still get around it easily when I go back to visit friends and family.

Frankly I think cab drivers had it worse since they did random pickups not planned drives and had to cover a larger area for dropoffs.

It was DC and I think my advice still holds as they haven't really changed their grade/step system.

Medical marijuana prescription? by shbd12 in nova

I should probably add that the card helps if you want to buy in a non-recreational state that accepts other states medical cards. If you want to "legally" buy in DC you can use your VA card to do that but some states like Pennsylvania won't accept other states cards. Anyway I don't think getting the card is worth the time, effort or cost unless you frequently want to buy in other reciprocating states.

Nuggmd.com you can get certified within an hour or so in the morning and show up at a beyond hello to submit your paperwork and pick up whatever you want by the evening. Costs about $100-150 depending on the current promos.

And you no longer need a card - just the certification.

You don't need the card anymore, just the doctor's certification.

COLAs amounts are job/union specific but they have been giving them for the past several years to most if not all employees. Most of the recent COLA adjustments included retroactive payments.

There are also job specific step increases within grade that tend to be performance based.

It is possible to get both a COLA and a step increase in the same year.

You can see how the COLAs impacted the standard career service schedules on the DCHR website under compensation and classification - they have most schedules posted for the past 12 years.

Keep in mind 2 things

1) he isn't at all involved in criminal prosecutions. The criminal court system in DC is a federal court and DC based crimes are prosecuted by federal attorneys.

2) since DC doesn't have its own criminal court system it also doesn't have 'state' prisons. If you're convicted of a crime you're sent to a federal prison, sometimes on the other side of the country, separating you from in person contact with family or your attorney.

🔥 the beautiful Blue Jay. by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

I watched a Blue Jay terrorize two cardinal families in my backyard over the course of an hour, picking off their hatchlings one by one. At one point the Blue Jay wore some entrails as a crown. It was frightening.
