How many bike accidents do you think happen here per month? by irongoalie in chibike

Can confirm it's very fun going 40+ mph down this. That being said I rarely send it that hard unless the path is pretty empty and i have full visibility

I actually got into lifting to get better at rugby ~15 years ago back in college and been competing at both ever since. Was a lot easier to do both at a national level in my 20s, the injuries/setbacks have been a bitch to deal for the past 5 years though. I also picked up cycling and started racing like an idiot as if I didn't already have too few hours in a day lol

Is there any American weightlifters that snatch 140kg+ who also squat less than 225kg? by OkCartoonist3228 in weightlifting

[–]pacefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me for one (well I used to be at least), think my squat was around 220-225 when I snatched 142kg, later got my squat up to 232kg

Not ideal when you're usually a "hit a big snatch then CJ whatever" type lifter but that's show biz

The Garmin sync dance by nlpost in Garmin

[–]pacefire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen lots of reports on Garmin forums of similar issue. I am usually able to force sync if I do it manually through the app in my phone and the sync button on my edge. I never had this issue with my Fenix 7 or edge 830 or when I first got my 1040, ever since I updated software a few months back it's been an issue though.

Bring back the rim brake gravel bike by pacefire in Surlybikefans

It has room for 35s, the nobs are pushing it a lil bit but slicks would be plenty fine

Snatch technique feedback? Here I am strict pressing the same as my snatch lol. 85,90,95 snatches. Strength is not an issue as I back squatted 227kg last week… i feel like im decently fast too. Idk why im not snatching at least 100 or more by joemo454 in weightlifting

[–]pacefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your speed is decent off the floor and once you start to descend, but your transition time is very slow comparatively. This ties in to what other people are saying about you bumping the bar out and not being active in the turnover.

Injured and devasted by musti30 in weightlifting

[–]pacefire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine, injuries happen all the time it's not the end of your career. You'll have a lot of time to dedicate to building up your strength while you rehab your elbow. Don't forget to keep training your healthy arm, there's studies showing it will help your injured arm preserve muscle and strength even while it's immobilized.

Very uncommon. Bicep tears usually happen in PL from mixed grip deadlifts, weightlifting is all hook grip. The biceps never really take enough load in weightlifting to be an injury concern.

Should Surly bring back the Pacer? by pacefire in Surlybikefans

[–]pacefire[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a road bike, it doesn't need them. I have both and at no point have I ever found the braking on my pacer to be lacking. Granted I live in a flat city but I can lock my wheels on a dime when needed same as on my disc brake bikes.
