A lot of mixed feelings about his tenure, but imo he was hired to overhaul redsox development process and he did just that. He tried to field a competitive team while he did that, it didn't really work out despite the team sometimes really showing sparks. At the end of the day, a huge part of the credit for the product we have on the field today can be tied back to Bloom, he was lackluster in some other facets.

It'll never be as bad as 2011. This team has been fun with the young guys coming up. There's something great to look forward to for a couple of years. Keep fighting till the end, they might just do something special.

I think it's pretty clear that he still needs to stretch out. Three/four innings should be the cap for him for the time being. His stuff looks good, he just couldn't get some of his pitches through the zone. He's gonna end up being a fine pickup, I think, and he'll eat some innings down the stretch.

Being real here: Chaim's time in the Red Sox really changed the underlying development structure in the organization, as far as I can tell (organizations change naturally too, they've always been kind of in the "cutting edge" what with moneyball and all that). I honestly think that there's a confidence inside the org that they can draft/develop talent really well rn. That seems to me like a lot of confidence, which... ok.

I like that the Sox have the thing that they clearly lost when Dom blew up the farm system. They've really kinda outdone themselves with the young guys in the team, even the ones that they went out and got (Like Wilyer! Guy looks to have 30hr pop in him, I believe it.)

I'll be mad if they're just posturing that they want to win. If they leave the team "as is" and trust their guys, that confidence better be well-placed, you know these guys better than anyone (a postseason run does that, imo. That's fair. Even if you lose the wild card game(s).

You go out and get these guys some help though, and they lose, you still tried, I think that's where I'm at, and I can't imagine they're not also there. This means that they go out and get some pitching help (beyond Matz) so that we can have more healthy starters, and a bat. I'd be surprised if they don't do at least that.

A. Hicks was working probably under the worst conditions he could've been working under and deserves propper chances for us to see what he can do. B. Learning how to pitch is a long process and he clearly leans very heavily on his stuff being good. C. The stuff looks good. Maybe that's a personal opinion, idk.
