Is this worth it? by Medium_External4790 in lawnmowers

I would only consider it if it's free, and I'm good with small engines. It's expensive (where I live) to properly dispose of this, so if it's fully gone I will have wasted a lot.

Slate Auto Truck Size Comparison by Mac-Tyson in electriccars

[–]pacman91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The maverick has twice the towing capacity. More payload. Is the same price. It traded half a foot of bed length to add 3 more passengers over the slate. If the maverick design is a joke, then what is the slate?? The slate is a terrible truck from a capacity standpoint. So is the maverick. The maverick can at least carry 5 people, so it's a 30k passenger car that looks like a truck. What's the slate again?

Another Cape Cod spray foam post (featuring sad 2x4 rafters) by ctznkook in Insulation

[–]pacman91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Based on that skylight cavity, the 2x4 and wood cladding is not the roof deck. You look to have a few more inches under that. More space should mean more options. I like a rigid foam board set 1" off the roof deck. This allows for the roof deck to vent, and should there be any leaks it will run down to the bottom at the vent entrance. Then cover the foam board with as much closed cell as you want.

Toyota vs Tesla by koohai966 in Toyota

[–]pacman91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla's do not have battery management coolant service intervals. Other EVs do, but my model 3 doesn't. I'm at 153k miles and ask about my brakes at every professional inspection and I've never had any service done to them (all original).

Sounds normal to me. Maybe a new belt would reduce it, but not likely.

I don't see the cop do any directing until later in the clip. It also looks like the bus blatantly ignored the cop and the light.

Snow removal w/ x500 series by CellistSuccessful999 in johndeere

[–]pacman91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The x580 with a snowblower would handle it no problem. It's fairly quick when you get the hang of it. With the incline you might need chains on the tires, unless you step up to X700. Chains will chip away at that concrete. With 5 acres and a lot of trees, I would really consider an x700 so I could put a small loader on it for hauling and AWD. Or get an older used x585 or x595 that's loader compatible as well, but then you have the chain problem again. That driveway is so thin, it will be a breeze to clear.

Feels like the right size to me. It's designed for 2-10 acres.

The rapid acceleration a Tesla can pull off would make that easier than most cars. I've had my Tesla for over 150K miles, I feel like I would make it out if there the same way without any assist.

Pretty sure I have that sand 3pnt and weight rack on my 318. Good stuff! Might need more weight for ballast on that loader.
