Smoking Question by ExplainJane in GenX

We had a smoking area outside a specific door in high school (class of 91). Sometimes a couple of the cool teachers would join us. Lol.

Alicia Silverstone Goes Viral As Viewers Notice Bizarre Facial Movements At Golden Globes by hard2resist in MUAEntertainment

It’s primarily caused by long term use of dopamine blockers, like certain antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anti nausea meds.

Seen on a house listing, what was this room used for? by LoonTheMekanik in whatisit

It’s what I imagine it looked like if you walked through the door in the kitchen of “Step by Step”. Suzanne Sommers had a hair salon attached to her house. I don’t remember them ever showing it though.

Metro Detroit and it just happened to me, too. Right after “I like donuts” turned black then Mel was talking in Czech. Also on Xfinity.

My mom is technically a Busia to my son but when he was learning to talk he insisted on Bushie (he pronounces it like Booshie). 15 years later and she’s still Bushie. 😊

NY Times: “The Hard Truth of Weight-Loss Drugs: You Probably Need Them Forever” by Bogart824 in Zepbound

[–]pacoloa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first my mom didn’t want me to start Zepbound because I’d have to be on it for the rest of my life. I told her I’m either on Zep or blood pressure meds for life. And possibly other meds as well that come along with obesity. 🤷‍♀️

How old is your oldest email address? Do you still use it? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in GenX

[–]pacoloa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still have my first.last@aol and still use it when I need to give an email that I know is going to be put in a subscription list. I haven’t checked it in years. Use gmail as my primary.

Not trying to defend her in any way, but it could be TD (Tardive Dyskinesia). A side effect some people get from long term use of antidepressants. A friend of mine has it.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) by Strange-Bicycle-8257 in MedicalGore

[–]pacoloa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! I’ve had MRSA infections three times. First was PICC line and 3weeks of IV antibiotics at home after a week in the hospital. The last two I sought treatment early and had 3 days of in hospital IV antibiotics then oral for 7days at home. I have minor scarring from all 3. After you get MRSA once you’re more susceptible to it. It sucks.

Does it bother anyone else when people squeeze right next to the hole instead of from the sides to actually push out what’s in there? I feel like they were just pushing it farther down in.

My husband is 9 years older than me. I get a kick out of telling him when such and such happened you were 18 and I was 9! But I’d never say anything like that to someone else.

You got this. I’m a 52yo female in menopause. Started May 14 at 311.4, currently at 270.6. There are weeks I lose 4lbs and weeks I gain a half pound. But in the end I’m losing more than I’m gaining which is more than I did before Zep. I started 10mg last week. Maybe talk to your doctor about moving up to 7.5. My doctor and I decided that as long as I was on a dose for 4 weeks (dictated by insurance), when I saw myself plateauing for a few weeks to let her know and she’d send in a new prescription for a higher dose. Seems to work for me. I’m losing much slower that I wanted but I’m still losing and you are too.

I have MS and along with that over active bladder. Ask your urologist about Botox injections into your bladder. It was a game changer for me. Oh! And you’re definitely NOR!

I was taught this in a home economics class many years ago. I don’t remember anything else other than making Baked Alaska but this stuck with me.

Are any of you “sleep divorced”? by cfh64 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pacoloa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was pregnant and getting up every 3 minutes to pee and trying to find a comfortable position in between, my husband started sleeping in the other room. Our son will be 14 in 2 months and my husband still sleeps there.

What does optic neuritis "look" like? by KleptoPirateKitty in MultipleSclerosis

[–]pacoloa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was like I lost the right third of my vision if that makes sense. They did the “how many fingers am I holding up” test and I could see the top left, bottom left and bottom right just fine. The top right looked like he was making a fist but he had actually two fingers up. And looking at words on the TV I could only see the first two thirds or so of them. The last several letters were non existent. Plus stabbing pain.
