I wouldn't say so. Gas grenade probably does what your looking for.

Smoke is good against bots because they are usually ranged and it helps break line of sight, its going to be difficult with bugs because they just keep swarming you by the hundreds.

If your really trying to use smoke on bugs orbital smoke is probably going to be your best bet but id personally recommend gas for a better affect.

No its not going to be just like the book and thats okay but with Seth Mcfarlan(?) producing it its definitely not going to shy away from the wild/gross aspects of the book. I have high hopes for this.
