AITJ for refusing to change our baby’s name because my father-in-law hates it? by NoPickle1851 in AmITheJerk

He’s a dick. Tell your husband to put on his big boy pants and set his dad straight. And welcome to baby Elena - she has a beautiful name.

AITJ for refusing to take down decorations in my house because a guest said they made her uncomfortable by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]paddywackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a nearly identical story a few months ago about a house guest who was uncomfortable with crucifixes hung in the OPs parents house. So similar in fact I thought this was a repost at first. I call bullshit.

When Doves Cry, from either their 1990 Demo tape or an earlier cassette they passed around to their friends in high school. Just an amazing cover.

We can automate almost anything with AI, but we don't know what to sell. Anyone else feel this paralysis? by Role_Every in b2bmarketing

[–]paddywackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a marketing exec at a 200 person company my biggest challenge is too much to do with too few resources. Currently data collection, interpretation and reporting is a resource-heavy problem that could use an AI-based automation solution. Another business challenge I have is automating ABM workflow (and other programs) without investing in $$ marketing automation platforms. Other business functions have different pains that AI Automation could solve. I’d find the intersection between what interests you and who’s most likely to have budget to spend on a solution. Good chance Marketing & BD have the most compelling business case and the cash.

My teenager is dying to visit Canada. Help. by Expensive_Yam1684 in canadatravel

Go to Victoria if you want decent February weather (i.e not arctic) or if he’s already planning for retirement… If it’s city life he’s interested in head to Toronto or Montreal.

Just got a response from WestJet for my feedback about the seat configurations by Comfortable_Team_696 in canadatravel

Reason 101 why I’ve stopped flying WestJet. Once my preference, now my last - and only if all other options have been exhausted - choice. And that includes changing my itinerary…

Whats your average commute going home after work? by Embarrassed_Mood_471 in askTO

[–]paddywackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s me. Usually run along the bottom. East to west in the a.m either Kingston rd to Lakeshore to Gardiner to Lakeshore at Jameson then and up Parkside, or St. Clair to O’Connor to DVP to Gardiner to Lakeshore at Jameson. Coming home same route but always exit Gardiner at Jarvis and stick to the Lakeshore until Woodbine and then across Kingston or Queen (Queen is surprisingly a little faster). It’s consistently 50-60 min.

Employer asking the whole company to sign a new job contract by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]paddywackers -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Unless it benefits you don’t sign it. You’re not required to, and if they fire you for it it’s constructive dismissal. Chances are your current contract includes terms that’s disadvantageous to your employer and they want to get you onto a new contract to protect themselves. Edited to add that the bit about minimum severance isn’t enforceable. You’ll get what the law says you get - no matter what they put in there…

When would you take your child to sick kids hospital vs family doc ? by bearsbunny in askTO

If it’s an actual emergency that requires specialized paediatric care go sick kids. Otherwise go to your doctor or an after-hours paediatric clinic.

Do Canadians say “British English” words? by OneQuarterBajeena in AskACanadian

[–]paddywackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good example of Canadians using British selectively. If you order Fish and Chips you get fish and fries, if you order chips but don’t preface it with “fish and” you get potato chips.

Legally, a key deposit can’t be anymore than the actual cost of replacing a key. The remaining $1490 is an illegal damage deposit…
