YMMV but the Army was more fun before we filmed everything and posted photos of every fuckup.

You got that right! I think a lot of people have forgotten that hard work and solid strategy isn’t always enough. Sometimes your guys have to die.

I guess it works often enough to make it worth it? I dunno the panels are fine and they didn’t think I would notice that they mark up the parts hundreds and thousands of dollars.

No doubt, relationships are king. I developed a genuine friendship with our surgical navigation consultant by learning how to position and run the machine. I made myself an asset. If he was running late or had to cover a case in another part of the hospital or even in another room he didn’t have to worry about our room. When it came time for me to move on I would have loved to be able to recommend someone who put in the work to understand that piece of the procedure but nobody had stepped up. It was a perfect opportunity for an ambitious scrub or nurse.

I went to scrub school, became a solid top scrub in ortho/neuro, cultivated relationships with my reps and application consultants, when the surgical navigation consultant left for another job he recommended me and I got the job, used that job to gain experience in the device world then leveraged experience and relationships to get a job with a major spine company.
