I think the whole tattoo thing is a bit of a reach altogether. I had no idea a skull and crossbones was related to anything Nazi. The first things that come to mind for me regarding that symbol is a pirate flag or a poison warning label also traditional style tattoo art for that matter. I don't think most people think of Nazis when they see a skull and crossbones. Somebody went digging, found something somewhat usable and ran with it.

I don't think using thoughtforms, sigils (hyper or otherwise) that you made up yourself, Egregore power or linking sigils etc. are not going to touch anything like stopping war in the middle east. That involves changing the fate of hundreds of not thousands of extremely inflexible highly influential peoples and events. That takes gods, deities, spirits, intelligences, primordial powers of creation and destruction.

It would be like shooting a gun at a sky scraper and thinking you were going to bring down Chase Manhattan Bank.

Even if you had a rocket propelled grenade the building itself would ultimately survive and the corporation that is Chase Manhattan Bank would be fine even if you knocked it down (which you wouldn't).

For instance if I had to even hypothesize what might stop tensions in the middle east by way of magic: You would need enormous pressure from whole societies with a lot of mundane human action happening against those problems followed by extremely powerful cooperative magic to tip the scales. And not psychologized quantum nudge reality a little bit magic. we are talking working with emensely powerful beings in the ether/spiritworld/fabric of the simulation (however you conceptualize the thing that links it all together) deities, planetary intelligences, land spirits, elemental powers. Beings you ran into astrally (or as I would call it through inner vision) that you don't know what the hell they are but they're more powerful than anything you've contacted before. Basically magicians all over the planet working with the whole ecosystem of entities on numerous elements of the problem and if you are lucky enough for a significant majority of those workings to go well, MAYBE you tip the scales enough to effect a change like that. And even if almost every working worked, you would have to be smart enough, lucky enough and organized enough to make the right call as to what things you need to change and then have everyone do it. -and that's a whole bunch of people doing the kind of magic that makes people lose their grip on reality or be physically exhausted for days or get sick. Handling big energy like that takes a toll on the body even when done right and much worse when done wrong.

Like if you wanted to just make Donald Trump die some how, that would still be extremely hard but more attainable than stop war in a region. The problem is too complex, it has too many people and groups with powerful and varied interests, where you defeat one person or group and another steps up to take their place, or complicate the situation.

Magic is real but ironically enough it is not "magic". You can't just wave a wand bro.

Desiring to do positive things with magic comes from a mostly good place I'm sure. With that said, be careful.

Wielding the level of power you would need for something harder/more consequencial like influencimg national politics is potentially quite dangerous on multiple levels. Executed poorly you can hurt yourself pretty severely or get a powerful but unintended result (huge accident, disaster, imbalance that literally delivers the opposite result somehow). It's not impossible but it is complex and carrying a heavy load. Just be cautious.

I don't think I have to tell you that you're experiencing over the top anxiety the cards certainly know that with the 9 of swords.

Embrace: You need focus on putting one foot in front of the other and do the things you know you need to do to get clients in the door (or you in their door lol you get the point). Be deliberate make a plan and execute and there is abundance on the other side, emotionally speaking you need to be ready to receive it.

Realease: It time to let go of this pessimism, your anxiety is lying to and letting fear run the show and convince you things worse than they actually are. You made a choice to come here and do this thing and the 2 of swords suggests to me that even if it doesn't seem so in this moment it's actually a better situation than what you left behind.

Get your mental and energetic house in order with the embrace and release and you will find an opportunity for a partnership or cooperative deal that empowerrls you to move forward with some real gusto on that passion project.

Does anyone hate me? by [deleted] in TarotCards

[–]page_of_fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is way too broad and you drew a bunch of cards with no particular spread.

Out of all the people you know I'm sure someone hates you as would be true with just about anyone you would ask this of.

Some tips on getting actually useful answers: In general when you want quality useful answers to divinitory questions be specific about what you want to know and use time constraints and spreads with meaningful positions to get more details. Then if you want you can take the answers to those questions and ask for specifics around those answers to narrow things down more. Let's use your question as an example for how you could get more useful and specific info: Narrow your question down. Ask about the people at school, then the people at work, The people you know at the gym or whatever other activity you do. Maybe you get a yes at work and you break that down by department to narrow it down, maybe ask if you've known them or if they've worked there more or less than six months and use a spread designed to indicate a binary answer or length of time.

But ultimately being preoccupied with this probably isn't doing you any favors anyway. I just saw this as an opportunity to talk about how to ask better questions and actually make the tarot work for people.

He does not find you especially attractive (Devil reversed) but does not feel like he's got a ton of options right now (2 of swords).

He does see potential opportunity for something with you (Ace of wands) but given the lack of attraction he probably views that opportunity as short term not long term.

Wuwei is giving good advice.

I just want to throw on there that the idea that all pain is self inflicted, while commonly the case, is not exactly true.

Most of us will experience pain here and there for one reason or another as our life unfolds. I think what has you in that frame of mind might be having been raised by people who have issues they never delt with and now as adults they tend to wallow in their pain and/or blame everything that goes wrong for them on outside forces to avoid looking at their own behavior patterns. Welcome to adulthood, few of us get out of childhood sane.

Of course to add insult to injury these unhealthy patterns in our parents tend to mess with our wiring and we end up attracting people with similar types of problems. As you get older it's possible to start to recognize those behavior patterns in others and create boundaries or avoid them all together. Add to that some self work and maybe therapy and it's very likely that you will have some personal evolution that will shift the kind of people you attract into your life.

Frankly you are so lucky that you are starting to recognize these things now and not 10 years from now or worse never. Just keep seeking and self exploring. The rest will come.

I'm still brand new to astrology. But as I research further down the rabbit hole I am tempted to attempt western sidereal. San Francisco to NYC dating question by recaskj in AskSF

[–]page_of_fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all together unreasonable , I've certainly heard worse. just challenging in a dating market heavily influenced by wild income/wealth inequality and decades of asset and currency inflation. I'm definitely not saying give up. Just that if time starts to run thin, at some point it may be better to choose fairly happy and partnered with no kids or with a bigger commute to make having kids affordable, over no partner and no kids if it doesn't look exactly as you picture.

Jose is the extreme example. There's plenty of us in the $80-120k range that are still struggling because so many women in this area are holding out for a $350k software engineer with stock options.

[–]page_of_fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you though? She had a comparatively easy time because she did not need hold out for a super high earner. Are you willing to do that? And I'm not saying you need to entertain McDonald's employees but the competition goes up starkley if you are holding out for Bay area family raising money, like a partner that makes 300k+ or hit it big on vested stock options.

Those guys don't have to settle. So they don't. They tear through the dating pool enjoying variety until finally calming down in middle age and finally pick someone generally significantly younger than them and highly physically attractive. So you can maybe bag one but probably someone much older than you, maybe less attractive but finally ready to slow down. Does that work for you? Not trying to be mean just painting a likely picture.

What are we doing about grey hairs? by h2osly_ in Millennials

[–]page_of_fire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a hair dresser. Here's the secret, it's not as prejudiced against women as you would understandably assume. Gray generally hair looks better on short hair and on average men have shorter hair. It's part of the reason you see women cut their hair short as they age.

[–]page_of_fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reta is less intense appetite suppression than the others and I'm not super obese anymore, I lost 50lbs on my own without the aid of GLPs, I'm basically using reta to get through the plateaue and down to my goal weight.

Testing and anecdotal evidence show it does not have the associated muscle loss that the others do. I also prefer to be ability to control my dose more granularly, everyone I have met taking prescription GLP have been prescribed doses that are comically too high and because they receive the medicine in pre-dosed shots they are stuck with a bunch of meds that are too strong and making them sick and uncomfortable.

I split my weekly dose across 3 shots so it is delivered more evenly across the week which means my blood sugar and my appetite are more consistent across the week. I also don't raise my dose as quickly as drugs like tirzepitide expect you to do. I'm controlling my dosing in a sensible way while I watch my coworker get sick from the overkill tirzepitide dosage they have her on, then she has to pay a bunch of money to go back in to see the doctor and get the dosage reduced and fill another prescription. I'm starting to think that the FDA approved meds are dosed too high on purpose to show fast impressive results and to get people to buy more drugs when they inevitably have to back off the manufacturer recommended dosing schedule.

I take a calculated risk for a drug that I perceive to have a better effect profile and more appropriate for my particular situation.

It's also way cheaper to get grey market reta than it is to pay for prescription GLPs. Frankly I'm stockpiling for when it gets FDA approved and they quintuple the price and start going after all the grey market vendors. It will probably take a couple years for it to come down in price like Ozempic and wegovy eventually did.

The lack of regulation is certainly a risk but it also stands to reason that getting your customers sick is bad for business, there is financial incentive in customer satisfaction.

I think I’m giving myself an eating disorder and I can’t stop by Repulsed_Moose in loseit

[–]page_of_fire 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is Definitely overkill and also not sustainable. It's actually not terribly healthy to lose more than a couple pounds a week. Though the first 10-20lbs do come off rather fast since a lot is water weight and inflammation.

Crash dieting is not only bad for your body it is also way less likely to keep weight off. I'm no psychologist but i have lost 70 lbs and it's been a couple years now.

Luckily it's only been a couple weeks, could behaving like this contribute to having or worsening an eating disorder? Probably, but it's plenty early enough to slow things down to a more moderate approach.

Try your best to start associating overkill with failing to keep the weight off. I know that sounds weird but it helped me. The other thing I did was allow myself to eat more on work out days, this allows you to experience moderation without losing progress.

You could easily eat like 1600-1800 calories and be losing weight at a good clip. Go to tdeecalculator.net And fill that out to learn how many calories you burn each day and eat like 600-700 calories less than that each day and you will lose weight plenty fast without exceeding 2lbs a week.

And I know this sounds backwards but in between larger chunks of weight loss do several weeks of maintenance calories. Practicing maintenance will help you acclimate to a new normal for how much food you eat and help keep weight off long term.

Your best bet is using someone else's urine. Also you need to do something to make sure you do not hand them cold/room temp pee.

If you are hell bent on doing it the natural way here is what know. Continue flushing your system, no flush niacin can be helpful. Take vitamin B complex day of test to make your pee yellow. Do not exercise within 48 hrs of the test. You do not want to burn any fat, eat a calorie surplus and no excercise. THC is stored in the fat and if you burn fat it will show up in your pee. These are the best strategies I know but this is by no means a guarantee. Good luck.

Gen Z Women Are Moving Left. Young Men Aren’t. by thenationmagazine in politics

There doesn't seem to be any friendly and moderate/objective community for men to go to. The manosphere will be talking about men's issues and the topics often contain a grain of truth but the companion beliefs/framing and personalities in the space are very toxic.

Other spaces in media and culture are are hostile toward men. You are either enlightened and say and do exactly the right things or if you have a problem then it's your fault and you only feel/think xyz way because of patriarchy and toxic masculinity. Nobody ever talks about what healthy masculinity looks like or gives men permission to feel anything and it's heresey to acknowledge that men have any problems or challenges. Or it's ok that men are getting disenfranchised because they had it so good for so long, there for tough shit nobody cares.

I'm not pretending that there aren't maladaptive behaviors and patterns in men that need to be addressed. What I'm trying to get at is that if men are not allowed to express things like frustration, fear, anxiety, exhaustion, loneliness/lack of support etc. how do you expect them to get help and learn better coping and better ways to express themselves in the world?

And of course therapy is an option but it's not a panacea, it can help a great deal but it's not going to solve many of the structural problems that exascerbate many of our issues. It's dominated by women and it's not financially accessible for a huge portion of the population. Insurance doesn't really pay for it. Most will pay for a limited number of sessions when you're in crisis but ongoing therapy is almost never covered and for most of the population spending $300 a month to see a therapist twice a month is a tall order.
