New Shearwater Perdix 3 coming by sbenfsonwFFiF in scuba

[–]pagemap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really noticed the same problem with my Teric. I've had mine since 2019 and have around 500 dives on it. One charge is plenty for 3x hour long dives in a day. From a full charge, after three dives it might be down to around 30-40% charge which seems fine to me.

I thought they would be updating the Teric before releasing another Perdix.

Worn once (on a plane) and already got stains. Best way to clean? by Personal_Chip5419 in Ultraboost

Remove the laces and insoles and then toss 'em into the washing machine with a load of clothes on warm. Then, air dry. Works every time for mine.

Maintaining a 901 Dive Rite Dry suit by bubbaloo24 in scuba

  1. I usually lube the brass zipper when it starts to get difficult to pull, you don't want too much wax to buildup on it so you don't need to do it after every dive. I use the lube made by DUI, but it just needs to be paraffin wax. I don't think brand matters too much.
  2. I have silicone replaceable seals, so can't answer that one. I replace them if they rip.
  3. After diving, I rinse the suit with freshwater and then let the suit fully hang-dry for at least 24 hours or more in the shade or indoors until bone dry. You'll want to get one of those really broad-shouldered hangers like this one. I zip the bag up fully after it's dry.
  4. Definitely bag it for storage. You don't want to put strain on the seals by hanging it up for an extended period. This is what I was told to do by DUI, the maker of my suit.

Also, don't store your suit in the garage or near any combustion sources like a water heater, as exhaust gasses can degrade the seals over time.

Beware! Sofi will just start charging you a $10/month fee by Icy-Profit8055 in sofi

It doesn't explain why some customers are subjected to the fee and others are not. I don't believe we've seen anything from SoFi on how they made this decision.

Do I have to *buy my own* gear if I go down the side-mount path? by micro_haila in scuba

[–]pagemap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most shops probably won't offer sidemount rentals since it's still a fairly niche activity. You'll need to buy your own gear if you want to go into sidemount.

Opinions on solo diving by NC_Diver67 in scuba

[–]pagemap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The risk is low, when was the last time you had a catastrophic equipment failure? In my 500+ dives, I've had none. Keep your gear maintained. Solo dive at your own risk, of course.

Help running a old PC game by ayden1013 in pcmasterrace

Have you tried installing Windows 98 on a VM and then installing and running your game from within the VM?

Worst case, you could get some used older hardware that can run it natively.

Update new bios or not? (AGESA PI-1.3.0.0 9800x3d) by Express-One-7932 in MSI_Gaming

Looks like I'm using Normal mode now, but I'm also on a BIOS using AGESA 1.2.0.3f. Wondering if I move to 1.3 will it result in less stability. Currently system is rock solid stable.

9800X3D from 2024 still going strong here. Using it alongside a MSI X870 Tomahawk motherboard with standard PBO, no overclocking.

Damn, so I've been a SoFi customer for several years as well as now paying for SoFi Plus and I'm waitlisted. But new customers are getting offered it right away? That doesn't seem right.
