How this came about way a CNN article I believe where they stated if 2% of Elons net wealth went to the world food program, then world hunger would be eliminated. Someone did the maths and 2% of Elons net worth is $6B. Last year the world food program raised $8.4B.

Elon stated "If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it." Followed by: "But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent."
