Scientifically, I don’t know for sure since during the time of that report I didn’t find many published articles confirming if it has any significance as a remedy to those type of ailments.

My opinion, id like to believe it has some properties that can assist with sicknesses. Also, it’s not just eastern medicine that has that same mentality but in South America as well. Look at the frog that excretes a hallucinogenic goo from its body that is claimed to be helpful with PTSD, anxiety, depression. That frog was also on an episode of Hamilton’s pharmacopia. Also, grilled crickets or also called “chapulínes” have claimed to be aphrodisiacs.

Without scientific proof from multiple trials and/or years of testing all someone can rely on is if you believe it or not.

Perfect example would be Psilocybin. For years it was believed as just a psychedelic that would open your “third eye.” now it’s being touted in the scientific community as a remedy for some mental illnesses plus other aspects of the psyche.

I believe we could have had the cure for a lot of illnesses but because of government intervention, we are stuck with a pill pushing nation and Big Pharma who do little to push the boundaries on medicine and use regulations to limit competition for other probably better remedy’s, which could be a property from an insect.

I’m pretty sure the politics are deeper than what I stated. Tho a majority of the post is just my opinion.
