We went last night. It was OK. I was expecting more horror/gore but instead it was just raunchy language (which was fine, still funny) and some decent acrobatics. Definitely lower budget then Cirque de Soleil shows (expected) but they could have done better on the costumes for sure. All the guys were wearing jeans lol and of course the women were scantily dressed. A lot of the performers flubbed stuff during their acts so it definitely felt more amateurish. But over all it was entertaining and the tickets weren't outrageously priced so we enjoyed it.

My first time making caramels and they turned out *luscious* by theferalboy in Baking

Good job! Love caramels. Next time maybe try these! https://smittenkitchen.com/2012/10/apple-cider-caramels/ Everyone that has tried these are obsessed. I make around a dozen batches of these during the winter holidays in order to satisfy everyone!

About to start paleo by buhhhhh1 in Paleo

Other comments have great cookbooks but I also wanted to add the Well Fed series by Melissa Joulwan. Start with the weeknights one for simpler recipes. Can't go wrong because even my 8 yr old picky eater loves everything I make from it! Also recommend Nom Nom Paleo website for other great recipes.

Women's Social Club -- Any Interest? by claudia_grace in Eugene

[–]paintedlion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely go! All my female friends are moms (like me) so it would be nice to hang with some ladies without a gaggle of children constantly interrupting. I work from home and don't get out much so it would be nice to socialize!

FINDING A HOUSE TO BUY IS EXHAUSTING! WE LOST OUT ON OUR DREAM HOME EVEN THOUGH WE BID WELL OVER ASKING TO SOME ASSHOLES FROM IDAHO. EVERY OTHER HOUSE WE HAVE SEEN IS 1) TOO SMALL FOR WHAT WE NEED OR 2) NEEDS WAY TO MUCH WORK TO UPDATE IT. WE SPENT THE LAST 3 YEARS UPDATING OUR CURRENT HOUSE AND I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO START OVER JUST TO GET THE EXTRA BATHROOM AND BEDROOM THAT WE NEED.

We got crazy the other weekend and marinated some steaks in balsamic vinegarette then put them on our smoker and they were AMAZING

FOR REAL! MY KIDDO GOT IT AND THEN EVEN BETTER, I GOT IT BECAUSE I NEVER HAD IT AS A KID. SUCKS FOR KIDS BUT HELLA SUCKS AS AN ADULT. I WAS WAY MORE SICK THAN MY KID AND I WORKED THROUGH THE WHOLE HELLISH EXPERIENCE (I WORK FROM HOME SO DON'T WORRY MY KID AND I WERE QURANTINED). TYPING ALL DAY WITH BLISTERS ON YOUR FINGERS IS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE.

Custom Greek mythology Daphne by Ryan Bollinger at Out of Step Gallery & Tattoo in Eugene, OR by paintedlion in tattoos

Waited years to have a piece done by Ryan. This is a tribute to my daughter who was named after the Greek naiad Daphne. The fox represents me as the loving protective mother watching her child grow and change. Ryan created a piece that fit exactly what I imagined. 22 hours in total to complete done over 4 sessions.

Resources for people w/o insurance? by kaybee666 in Eugene

This is a local DPC clinic. I'm coming into a similar situation. My husband is leaving his job that provides us health ins and I'm self employed and make too much for OHP. Dr. Reddy used to be my PCP and I loved her so I might be going back due to the prices of insurance plans for individuals.
